    I'm finally working on my daughter's dress this weekend.

    I bought Rainwood Quality Fabrics, Woven Suede, 54/60, SKU: 998880 at Hancock fabrics. The shades vary between stores and are not named. I got a bunch at $4.00 a yard. It's nice because it looks lined too. (May use it to remake my Mustafar tunic, or maybe to make me an Ewok dress someday.)

    Anyway, I'm thinking, for my 2.5 year old, instead of doing lacings, I may embroider the chris-crosses on the seams. Can anyone think of why that would not work?

    Another question. Has this costume EVER been on exhibit? There are next to no pictures on it, and you can't get too much from the DVD because the scenes with it are so dark and her hair gets in the way.

    Thanks!

    Maybe that's where the term "Rebel Commando" came from. ;)

    Just bumping. ;)

    I'm going to give this one a try, I don't have any conventions or events lined up as of yet, but I think I'd like to have this one just in case I need something quickly. (The hairstyle is nice and simple, so it would be good in a rush.)

    I wish there were as many pictures of this dress as there are of the ANH senatorial gown, I wonder what happened to all the full length promotional images?

    I have the one of her and the Ewoks which shows full length, and a few of her and Han snuggling in which you can see the back, but there must be more somewhere. :confused:

    As far as I know, it hasn't been in any exhibits. Maybe the original is gone somehow?

    I've seen pictures of the Bikini and her Alliance commander clothing in exhibts, they're from the same time, I wonder what happened to this one?

    Maybe the Ewoks needed more hoods and cut it up...for the Ewok TV movies perhaps? ;)

    Thanks Sister_Sola. :)

    I found an auction on Ebay for a RotJ toothbrush, with a gorgeous picture of Leia in this dress on the cover, here's the image:

    [image=http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Princesss_Aiel/canadaleiatooth.jpg]

    And here's the auction link:

    I've finally started work on the headband for this costume and am still searching for the right kind of fabric, hopefully it will turn up soon.

    I'm going to start making this dress in the next couple of weeks. But like most people, have found very few reference shots. And unfortunately, most of the links in theis thread aren't working. So anyone got any good ones? Particularly of the back and shoes!

    Check out padawansguide.com for some good shots of the back and shoes(even a suggestion of where to the sandals).

    Love the toothbrush! Great reference picture.

    FYI, my daughter has outgrown her dress, so it's for sale on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-Leia-Ewok-Endor-Costume-Dress-ROTJ-Size-3-4_W0QQitemZ300036628608QQihZ020QQcategoryZ80914QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Here's some pics of my Endor dress that I recenlty completed. I had a lot of help from a friend (thanks Liann!). I'm really happy with it, and I will get some better pics in the future. It was my first time wearing it and it was very comfy, although those darn slits made it a little chilly at times.

    I watched all the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars costumes that came through ebay this Halloween season, and here are two different ones sold by the same seller. I think from the photos at PadawansGuide, it looks like she got the pattern spot on:

    Not too bad, the back's a little off and I'd do the skirt with more layering. But that's just me. I'm working on a mock up of this right now for C4. Once I have something to show I'll post pics :)

    Hi everyone I've done this dress for Salvation Army Kettling. I cut out the patterns and my grandma sewed it because I sew really slow. But I did the belt and the collar bit and the threading bit. :p One mistake with this was that I didn't cut the waist 'in' enough, thus it ended up bunched and loose at the top as you can see...

    Close up pic (forgive the snarl):

    Full length: (I couldn't find an ewok on time so my er... ewok was albino)

    Me and my retired royal guard grandma with an early version of the dress! :p (No more braces now though! Woo!) :

    Cute! I like your second version a lot.

    I have my skirt pinned together, I need to adjust the lengths of everything once I attach it to the top though, everything is more or less one length and too long ATM. The top is still a work in progress, the middle of the front is together and I have a starting of the back, but no sides or sleeves yet. Hoping to have this done by 2/13. Guess I'll need an Ewok too :p

    EDIT: I took some pics. Please ignore my dirty room. The top looks really baggy there because my Dress Form isn't as big as I am.

    I was going to make this costume. However, I never have made a costume before and I am a bit overwhelmed. Are there any pointers I can get on how to start?
    I know I need an A-lined dress pattern but after that I am clueless.

    *begs for help*

    I'm hoping to make this one sometime this year. I have all the fabric, and now the shoes, I just need to work on the pattern. Oh and wait for my hair to grow longer :p I'm going to use a dress pattern for the top half of the dress, and then drape the skirts. Here's a picture of my fabric and shoes:
    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v219/Last_Chael/Costumes/Princess%20Leia%20-%20Ewok/EwokLeia006.jpg]
    I couldn't find any suede in the right colour, so I went with a fabric called Chamois. It's got a texture similar to suede, was the perfect colour, and was also on the sale table! The fabric for the sleeves is an off white rayon stuff that I found in the remnant bin. I love the shoes! I wear them everywhere!
