Soooo... has anyone acquired the Lost Stars paperback yet? I'm super eager to hear about the first chapter of Princess of Alderaan!

I would go to a book store to check it out, but every single one in close proximity has been closed. :(

I got the paperback last week! Bookstore has been lazy with street dates haha

The first chapter was excellent, reminded me of the princess novels I would read when I was younger. You see some Alderaanian fanciness, some Bail, some Breha, and some of Leia just being...Leia. It's great, highly encourage people to get the Lost Stars paperback to check it out. Also so they can read Lost Stars, which is a really great novel that brought Claudia Gray into our Star Wars lives and writing Leia

You had me at Alderaanian fanciness.

This is the Force Friday book I'm most looking forward to. :D

Does the paperback have "Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on it?

Part of me is tempted to get it again and justify it by loaning it out to folks (which is harder to do with the ebook). LS is actually a great NEU starter book.

    But I think.... I think I'll be patient. :/

Didn't even think of that. It doesn't on the cover or inside. Been replaced with "The New York Times Best Seller"

I've been collecting paperback editions of the books I love in the canon. I usually start with the Ebook or audiobook for flexibility. So when I heard about Lost stars finally getting a release AND it having the preview I had to get it immediately.

This is a really good book. Lots of great Leia material, of course, but IMHO the best portrayal is of ... oh excuse me my LFL implant is buzzing warningly. Sorry.

Alas, too late, as Jason's head exploded Scanners-style.

Still, he'd already turned in the final version of The Last Jedi novelisation.

Let's hope it's Breha. You can't tell us, but goodness we really need Breha to actually be used well.

Sorry! I think Winter was one of the best and must underutilized characters in Legends, and this book is, IMO, the last chance she has to get brought into canon. I don't see how she could come back if there is no mention of her in this book. I really hope she is in it.

Had I been given the opportunity to write the young Leia book of my dreams, it would have included everyone you could think of. There would be all the obvious ones like Leia, Breha and Bail, Captain Antilles, of course, but also...

Winter's last name being Retrac is straight up fanon. She may not have a last name at all, or if she does, it could be her father's.

I would be indulgent and have Senator Leia Organa be friends with Senator Pooja Naberrie.

Indeed. My calling her like that was a case of bad reflexes.

Oh, and how could I forget Leia's childhood crushes?
    • Raal Panteer -- Heir of House Panteer and Leia's first kiss (by the reflecting pools of the palace);
    • The unnamed proto-Han Solo from the "Princess Leia Diaries" -- Bad boy and hearttrhob
    • Jahan Cross -- Handsome son of a diplomat.

Though canonical Alderaan, judging from the Backstories book, seems to be a female-line hereditary monarchy. We'll see how this book treats it.

Of course, that's not the case in Legends, where Winter resides.

On closer observation, I wouldn't call her proto-Han "handsome." He looks a little bit too simian for my liking. But hey, it proves Leia isn't shallow! And then...
    he rides a thranta.

He's got the look of a movie star
He's got the smile of a prince
He rides a thranta instead of a speeder
    I wanna be his friend
