say, has anybody ever wondered what exactly happened to Leia during her stay on the first Death Star? did vader just give her several shots of pain drugs or what? she'd didn't look particuraly beat up when alderaan blew up

 

besides the black disco ball looking thing that floated with a sinister needle protruding from it, i think that vadar probably sang to her...which of course is torture. have you ever heard james earl jones sing? whew.

 

I think they just injected her with truth serum and hoped the mind probe would be able to find out where the rebels were.

 

I think it was bad enough to make her hate him even after he came to her in spirit, begging for forgiveness.

I honestly don't know. Probably jabbed her with needles and stuff.

 

I was always thinking that Vader probably tortured her, too. Just as the door to her cell is about to close, you see Vader lunge at her.

Not a good sign.

In the Radio Drama it goes into this in some detail. The drug that was injected basically made her very suggestable. All Vader had to do was say, "You feel like you've been run through with a lightsaber." and she would "feel" it.

 

I have read somewhere, that Vader makes Leia believe he was someone who sympathised ( is that spelled correct ? ) with the Rebellion, and asked her for the Rebel base.
Leia refused to give him the information.
After that, Vader made her believe she was in terrible pain, and that she was dying, unless she gave him the information he needed, but still she wouldn't say anything.
When Leia almost relly died, he brought her back to conscious.
Or something like that...

 

TatooineFireman is right. In fact a couple of months back, some one posted clips from the radio drama that dealt with this scene. REALLY intense stuff -- wonderful actress, screaming and wailing in the background.

wow, i didn't know that the radio dramas were available on the net! whoever played leia is really talented *whistles*

 

Yeah, Ann Sachs made a terrific Leia in the radio dramas, but Carrie Fisher looks more the part.

 

Damn! Poor Leia... funny as hell though. BWAHAHAHAHA.

Leia's voice actor did awesome. Vader's was really good but I'm still hooked on James Earl Jones, he's just Vader! My Dad has the record album of that but I've never really got around do listen to it. (He's very protective of the record player.) Augh! Now I wanna hear it!

 

I know, I'm so used to James Earl Jones being Vader that it was kind of weird at first listening to this other voice, but its in character, so I guess its okay

 

Really? I found it so jarring to hear this strange voice playing the part of Vader, especially given how sickeningly sweet it gets when Vader's trying to coax Leia into telling him what he wants to know. I agree that Leia's very good, though.

 

When I was a whelp I took Vaders line about 'Extracting the necessary information' from Leia literally.
I thought he actually used that syringe to syphon from her brain the cells containing the relevant information. I imagined him then peering into the test tube and there floating around would be an image of the whereabouts of the Death Star plans.
Actually, I still like that idea.
Muwhahahahhaah!

 

It's pretty obvious that Leia got probed.

 

I agree Ray. That's why she was so dismayed to see the Millenium Falcons well worn seats, she was hoping for some plush cushions.
