ST TLJ Trailers and TV Spots Discussion

DC actually has things planned out more than Marvel (with Geoff Johns involved) which is why the movies are way more interconnected where SS is more of a direct sequel to BvS than it would be in Marvel. But the problem was one executive at Warner who decided he was the filmmaker and decided to do like 6 different cuts of SS, forced 30 min cut out of BvS, etc.

They fired him before he could touch WW and put Geoff Johns in charge in a Feige like role.

That's exactly right. The reason Snyder can't pull off "depth," despite all his attempts at doing so, is that he's simply kind of an idiot. I hate to say it, but listening to interviews with him and then seeing how he treats weighty issues on screen makes it clear that he has a very shallow understanding of what he's trying to convey.

Anyone have March 26th in the "Hope against Hope" March Super Secret Teaser Trailer Tournament?

 

Well it is the day after the destruction of the One Ring, and as Aragorn said today, "my friends, you bow to no one Snoke."

 

I just hope they are relatively generous with the fotage included in the trailer. I had no complains with TFA trailer nor with RO one, they were good enough to give me an idea of how the movie would look.

We know next to nothing about TLJ, and the nuggets LFL has thrown us have been almost non-existent. So I hope the trailers compensates that in part.

 

I hope it's a specially filmed sequence wherein Luke and Kylo are on Ahch-To playing space chess and having philosophical debates about the Light side and the Dark side until Kylo gets angry and force chokes Luke to death while laughing "never go in against a Corellian when death is on the line!."

 

I hope that the Lucasfilm logo comes up, then JJ steps into frame and says "hi. I didn't direct this film, but I'm pretty sure you're going to love what we've got in store. I can't wait for you guys to see what we've come up with, but what I do know is it's best experienced all in one go as a hell of a ride. So instead of footage from the film, all I'm going to say is relax: Rian's got this"

 

I hope for a 2+ minute teaser trailer since it comes 8 months before the release, not 7 shots like TFA teaser had. I hope it will have as much content as May's TFA trailer had. Last shot i think is pretty obvious - Luke and green lightsaber. Everyone are screaming.

 

Careful, don't give them any ideas. We don't want to accidentally start a new trend here.

 

I'm assuming that if we get a trailer of some kind (fingers crossed) it will be of similar length and content to the first one we got for Rogue One last April.

 

I figure it will be similar in length and content as the second TFA teaser.

I might be REALLY REALLY stretching here, but makes me wonder if he's seen something from the trailer?

People have asked where he's getting it from, but no clarification. Hopefully he can say something more.

So is this going to be a 30-second teaser like the first TFA teaser, or a longer trailer?

 

If it's emulating what TFA and Rogue One put out in April 2015 and April 2016 respectfully, then it should be 2 minutes long.

 

It's gonna be a 12 parsec trailer.
