Any thoughts on the upcoming UFC 212? Looks like two really good fights.

I think Holloway has enough chin and cardio to go five rounds.

Claudia-Karolina should be a good stylistic matchup, grappler vs striker. We'll see if Karolina's takedown defense is up to snuff, though I doubt it is. If it is, she wins. If it's not, she loses. I like them both, so hopefully it's a good clean fight with a decisive winner and no one gets hurt too badly.

Something about Dana threatening to close the division if DJ doesn't fight TJ? Strong arm tactics typical of the UFC.

Anything you have to say on the subject? I wouldn't take well to it myself, I have a pathological, destructive drive to defy ultimatums.

 

Yeah, threats combined with ultimatums don't sit well with me either.

On the other hand, Dana may feel he has the leverage given that the UFC on FOX DJ just headlined didn't do a good rating.

Well this fight does straddle both worlds.

 

makes a lot of sense for conor money wise and he does have a punchers chance but really if the best boxers couldnt lay a glove on mayweather i doubt conor will either but then again 4 years ago he was on welfare now is will take home 100m from one fight well done to him

 

And he was training to make a comeback too. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Edit: More info on Meltzer's site. The truck he was in was hit by a train. Dana White's cancelled an appearance to Paris to presumably be with Hughes' family at the hospital.

Edit on a happier note: Mauro Rinallo will call the McGregor/Mayweather fight. Can't think of a more qualified person to call that one, as he's been in both worlds.

 

Damn, hope he is alright. He was active when I started watching as well, great champion and seems like a decent guy.

 

That should pay for his suits for the next three years.

I hope he's alright too, and he was a great fighter. His wrestling and grappling were very high level and fun to watch.
