this isn't going to settle the argument...

What us IL ppl are trying to say is that we would like to have a meeting every now and then over here in IL. We don't mean EVERY meeting. Even we know that wouldn't be fair to y'all...just like having every meeting in MO isn't fair towards us.

 

The problem with that is some of us live in the other side of STL OK in the boonies and we have to drive an hour to even get to STL

 

UNIVERSITY CITY!
How about a meeting at the U City Library or somewhere we can watch videos?

All cities have driving issues. One of the Chicago Force Jedi Council members lives approx 1 1/2 to 2 hrs SOUTH of Chicago, but regularly makes it downtown for events. When we have events NORTH of Chicago, he and others will drive up to 3 hours (with or without traffic).

It's a question of balance, and being fair to everyone. CF tries to spread out events, and rotate meeting locations to accommodate our large geographic scope. Maybe have every third meeting in IL? Definitely something to discuss at your next meeting.

In order to make long trips more appealing to everyone, try coupling business meetings with social events. For example, an afternoon meeting followed by an early evening movie, or trip to an arcade.
