JCC Let's talk about Youtube for a second.

I don't mean music videos or a silly cat jumping into a box--I mean youtube channels that post original content. Maybe recommend some channels or talk about some of your favorite videos.

Some personal favorite channels of mine include:

VSauce--which intersperses neato science factoid videos with geeky/cool things around the internet.

Puddin'--(which I won't link to on account of being completely NSFW)is a "live action single panel comic strip" about one man trying to enjoy his snack break at work while constantly being interrupted by his often vulgar, totally disgusting, and constantly inappropriate coworker. Stars Eddie Pepitone and Matt Oswalt(along with some surprising guest stars).

Periodic Table of Videos--The University of Nottingham produces this series of videos featuring an element of the periodic table in most videos. In the other videos they do chemistry experiments which usually end up in something exploding.

Geek and Sundry--Features a variety of videos, M-F, including the Flog(Felicia Day's vlog), Tabletop(a group of sort of famous people play a tabletop game hosted by Will Wheaton), and my favorite: Tuesday Night Hangouts: The Story Board(a panel of authors talk about things related to writing).

Anyway, I could go on(Daily Grace, Continue?, Community Channel...), but I'll stop there. Do you have any favorite Youtube channels?

The only youtube channel I kinda follow is Vegan Black Metal Chef. But I haven't watched any of his recent videos.

 

I've been following the beyond NSFW machinima series Sonic For Hire, because I like to see my childhood heroes depicted as rapists and crack addicts.

 

BriTANicK are my favorite original content makers. They have some absolutely brilliant stuff. I think they might have been most linked to with their amazing Trailer for Every Award Winning Movie Ever, which was linked to through Cracked.

 

The Nerdist. Absolute gold.

 

I follow the alternating board safe/not board safe Happy Harry Toons (The guy behind Saturday Morning Watchmen). His sense of humor is fantastically dadaist.

 

Natalie Tran on community channel is pretty darn hilarious.

 

This was going to be my suggestion, probably my favourite comedy duo. And they starting to show up in legitimate films as well. I was taken aback to see Brian as the book jockey in Young Adult, and they have some role in Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing that's playing right now at the Toronto International Film Festival. I am excited that they are getting some recognition beyond the internet.

I am also a fan of My Drunk Kitchen, where an amusing lady gets intoxicated as she...tries to cook, making terrible puns and amusing drunken observations. The food rarely turns out well, but she makes me laugh.

I've also been watching PewDiePie. Not high-brow or even revolutionary, but the guy does play-throughs of mostly horror games (though he has a few more ridiculous games) and records his reactions to things which are often hilarious. There can be long stretches of non-sensical babbling and nothing remarkable, but when he manages to find something frightening its hilarious. I'd recommend sampling his montages of scary/funny moments before diving into full play-throughs.

 

I love BriTANick. They don't upload that often, which makes me sad. I did like Joss Whedon's cameo in one of their recent videos.

 

I enjoy Schmoyoho (of Bed Intruder and Double Rainbow autotune fame) and **** Girls Say.

 

I like Freddie W.'s stuff.

and then there's all the awesome starcraft people on youtube like Day9, HD, Husky, and LagTV.
