Let's Talk Heroes

Ok guys,

In the Classic OT, Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, and the Droids are the core heroes (duh).

What I want to know is: In which film do you like each character the best? And if possible, can you pinpoint a scene or sequence within the chosen films that you prefer most for each character.

I'll go first:

My favorite "Luke" is ESB Luke over the other two, and if I had to pick a scene, it'd have to be a tie between his Wampa encounter and his Walker encounter.

Favorite Han: ESB - Scenes: Han flying the Falcon through the asteroids, Han giving 3p0 a hard time when being asked about Luke.

Leia: ANH - Scene - Grabbing Luke's blaster in the detention block and giving those Troopers what for.

Chewie: ANH - Scene - Trash compactor b/c he's the smart one heading for the door, and post-compactor when he refuses to come back to Han and shakes his head vigorously - always makes me laugh.

R2 - ESB: Saving the Falcon in the climax
3PO - ESB: Complaining about Artoo saving the Falcon

Luke in ESB because he is a rebel leader.

Leia in all of them because she is always really tough and she's pretty too.

Han in ESB because of his adventures with the Falcon.

Chewie in ROTJ because he kicks some Empire butt!

C-3PO in ESB because he helps the Falcon.

R2-D2 in all of them because he always saves the day.

Luke: RotJ, you just can't beat him standing up to Palpatine like that.

Han: ESB - When he's about to be put in Carbonation. For the first time in the saga, we can see Han Solo cares. Not only is he scared, but the way him/Leia/Chewie all interact is just awesome.


Leia: ANH, "I don't know WHO you are..." the way she says it and the way Han looks at her.

Just too classic.


R2: ESB, blowing smoke in front of the Stormier as the heroes escape.


3PO: ANH - "Shutting up sir"

 

Luke: Nowhere really. If I have to pick, I'd say the moment where he ignites his lightsaber in the Carbon Freeze chamber, in front of Vader.

Leia: Definitely ANH. The jabs she takes at everyone, even Tarkin, are nice.

Han: ESB. Best lines, best Han out of the three movies.


Chewie: ESB. Most of his scenes on Hoth.

3PO: It's a tie between ANH and ESB. I don't know which I like more, his arguments with R2 or his arguments with Solo

R2: ESB. All of Cloud City till the end.
