Not to be a hater, but to me he's a little over rated. It would be nice to see him work again, but I can live without seeing an 80 year old Lando reprise his role, unless of course they can convince me other wise. Then it's cool whatever. I don't mind if he's there or isn't there. No real objections, but I can also do without...

I don't really see what makes him so slick anyways He doesn't have THAT much swagger as the legend states.

But in all seriousness, I wonder why we haven't heard anything about him? He was a celebration and talked about how it was Heaven to work on the films in a past tense kind of way. Of course he wouldn't spoil it, but I just didn't get the vibe that there's a place for him. I mean, a mention would suffice if not an appearance

Yeesh, even Ackbar out the window, literally? Options for OT gravitas are thin on the ground and I'd bet there's some remorse over not bringing Billy Dee onboard sooner.

That Lando was going to be at the head of the 'allies in the Outer Rim' they kept mentioning throughout the final act of the film. Who knows? Maybe in IX, as I presume said allies are the Resistance's next destination...

The Resistance is dead, all that's left boarded the Falcon, it's the New Rebellion now.

 

would love to see lando back in ix. he's an experienced rebel and i think they could use one after all this. also i wouldn't be surprised at all if lando and maz know one another and like one another. chewie needs lando too.

There's nothing to talk about. It's weird how they babble on about all this new "diversity", but completely ignore the biggest black character from the original films.

 

Ok, i'll say it. I really liked Holdo and Laura Dern...but can anyone think of a good reason that couldn't have just been Lando? Idk. You could've had the same dynamic with Poe ("i was once like you kid" or something like that) and it would've been effective. ofc people would've complained about them killing ot characters but idk.

without leia, lando does really seem to have a potential place in episode IX. It'd be cool to see him in some kind of small role.

 

Secretly I was hoping he would show up by surprise when the Resistance send his help signal at the end. He truly has to be a friend of the resistance and the republic right? It would have been pure fan service but I'd have loved it.

I lost my hopes with Lando in the ST, maybe a book will show that he dies before TFA.

Billy Dee Williams can still play Lando perfectly as seen in Rebels and Battlefront II. He'd make a great replacement as the leader of the new rebellion.

They had a planet like Canto Bright, and Lando didn't pop up there at all. What a waste. On the other hand, I'm kind of glad that he wasn't in here. Given how they treat the other OT heroes, Lando would probably turn out to be some miserable old drunk who had lost everything, and then he'd die.

I felt like the best chance for him was in 8. The casino? I mean come on. Why not? That would have been a great call back, even cameo. I didn't think about it when Leia sent the signal out. Would have been cool to see some Cloud City ships come from the sky. Also thought about Force Awakens, he could have been there with the resistance with Leia and Han, but maybe that would have been a little too much nostalgia?

Maybe they are saving him to be a bigger picture of a story and he's Finn's father or something. But at this point, I am afraid that if he shows up he'll be dead just like all the other OT characters.

I made a thread on it's own about who the allies in the Outer Rim could be but like I said there if Lando isn't one of them then that's a missed opportunity. They have a way now to bring him back. They should take it.
