LFL is going to pull the X-Wing from Wings Over the Rockies!

Yea, ObiW, I talked with Steve this afternoon when he relayed the above info to me. Even tho he remembered us from KEMPE, he was still quite amiable! FLOL!

 

I sent over the pics I had on the X-Wing at WOTR to Sansweet yesterday, & he was grateful, so hopefully I'll get some further scoop in the near-near.

 

Last time we went we got a group discount, so Jeff will work on that real soon. When do people want to go?

Tim, are you going to be the one to figure out what we need to do to the old bird?

 

So wait...am I reading this right???

The X-Wing will be used for some promo work here and there, but for the most part it'll stay in Colorado and we get to take care of it??!?!?!!?!?1/1?!!?!?1/!??

 

That's what I'm getting out of this?

In a nutshell, Sansweet left word with me that the original plan was to have movers conex-box the bird to San Diego, make repairs, haul it to CIII, and finally back to WOTR for semi-permanent display.......bottom-line is that they probably need the bird for CIII, but after, Sansweet & WOTR think it's better if WOTR stores/displays the bird.

Our job will most likely be touch-up painting, make minor repairs like adjusting and stabilizing engine tubes, gun pods, ect.......and maybe things like snazzin' up the cockpit for photo-ops.

 

Oh, twist my arm, while you're at it.

 

Just wanted to bring this old thread back up to show people how long we have know about this & how hard Tim worked on this so we could restore the X-Wing.

I also wanted to know for myself when the first time it was that we started talking about it.
