JCC Liam Neeson to "Escape From New York"?

What do you all think of this?

 

Had Escape From L.A. not been such an unintentional comedy then perhaps the original third planned film Escape From Earth could have been made. Maybe then this is what they have in mind. Escape From New York, how the hell do you remake it to feel like that then make a trilogy? Gritty realism, or don't even bother.

 

i think they should make "escape from hollywood" starring laboofs.

 

I'm a fan, but not particularly excited without John Carpenter or Kurt Russell.

Liam Neeson? No, someone younger.

It's an interesting setting, but that's not enough to hold up a trilogy, they'll need something more than "cool guy with eye patch escapes location".

This isn't some guaranteed awesome that makes itself.

 

Seriously. Neeson is only 1 year younger than Kurt Russell. What's the point of recasting if they're going for that age?
