Ewlla moved to some more cover and started shooting. Antares, not caring what happened to Grinder, shoulder-rolled into her spot, pushing himself as deep as he could between the two cloning tubes.

Antares looked at his wrist pad. He opened the security suite, or anti-security suite rather. His fingers flew across the wristpad as he broke down the basic defenses of the tube. Most of the security would have been in the console one of the technicians were working at, they were blasted to bits though. A moment later the keypad flashed green.

"We can open it whenever we want." Antares announced, looking for more enemies with his carbine.

OOC: Sorry for not posting during this crucial battle. Had a sudden family emergency. Let's see if I can get back into this without screwing up your guys' posts. :p

IC: Killifer, Shasta, Rax, Rex, Kino Su, the clones, the techies, the med-droid, the IG-86 droids, and Sharkey
Location: "stasis" room - Killifer's cloning facility - Nadiem

It all seemed to happen so fast. The rookie agent Rax Chopchura was trying to process everything that had happened. The clone called Goon was dead. Then he saw Reldin fire off a few rounds into Grinder's chest, killing that clone also. His rookie teammate Rex Heaven had been stunned and was laying on the floor, unable to move.

As far as the non-combatants, Killifer had been knocked to the floor. He must have landed at an awkward angle because he looked like he was in pain, but alive. The Kaminoan cloner Kino Su had apparently fled the scene. He was nowhere to be found. The techies, who were not trained for combat and were unarmed, were scrambling around trying to avoid the gunfire. And the med-droid was floating around in circles not knowing which injured person to help first. It just continued muttering the words "Ready to heal."

There was a sudden scream from the clone called Five-Hole, who happened to take a blaster bolt in the groin.

Shortside, who was holding Nifesta's body, yelled at Toe Drag. "Toe Drag! What the frag are you doing? You're firing on our own people!" Then Toe Drag aimed at Shortside's head and fired. "What in--" BLAM! Shortside fell to the floor, dropping Nifesta in the process.

    BLAM!

Another shot, this time to Toe Drag's head. Wrister, still carrying Face-off's body, used his free hand to draw his blaster and fire on the clone that appeared to turn on his squad. "Everyone, out of the room! Retreat!" Wrister yelled over the blaster fire. The floor was now littered with dead, injured, and unconscious people. The walls and computer consoles riddled with blaster holes.

Hat Trick bent down and hoisted the injured Killifer over his shoulder. He then pointed his blaster at the control panel, now lit up green, on Sharkey's stasis chamber and fired. The panel sparked and fizzled.

Shasta, who had taken cover behind a computer console with Rax, noticed the panel was destroyed. "Sithspit!" She ducked as another blaster bolt came from Blade, who was also taking cover behind a console.

Again, if I'm following the battle correctly, here is the current situation in which I find all my characters during this battle:

Face-off, Goon, Grinder, Shortside, and Toe Drag are dead.
Five-Hole is laying on the floor with an injured.......groin.
    Hat Trick is carrying Killifer.
    Wrister is carrying Face-off's body.
Blade is in cover behind a computer console.

Shasta and Rax are hiding behind a console.
Rex is unconscious and laying in the middle of the room.
Killifer is injured and is being carried by Hat Trick.
    Kino Su has disappeared.

Antares cursed as one of the clones blasted the control station on the General's stasis pod. He really hated to see his beautiful work go to waste. Some people had no respect for the careful, intricate work that was required in hacking. Antares shook his head and checked the power pack on his weapon. Still good. Now, he would extract some vengeance for the dead key-tracer program.

Antares leaned out from his cover and sent a flurry of bolts towards Kilifer and the Clone Trooper carrying him.

The twi'lek clearly had not thought this through, dropping the clone holding the shoulders of his cloak, the back of his head clouting the hard floor as the decapitated Shortside collapsed.

Blackness enveloped the twi'lek as he lost consciousness for real, breaking his hold over Toe Drag, the clone blinking behind the transparisteel visor as he noticed his arm outstretched with his blaster in his fist.
He started to look at the gun curiously, twisting his wrist to look at the side of it in confusion, and it was the last thing he ever saw.

    "Ready to heal."

    BLAM

The plasma bolt from Wrister's DC-15 took him in the right side of the helmet and vapourised it and the head underneath all the way to metal on the left side.

Ewlla shrugged as the clone she had shot bent over and collapsed with a ruined groin. Not her fault, she had been aiming lower.

    "Ready to heal."

Antares was working at the other end of Starkey's prison, doing something with a wrist computer. At length, he announced, "We can open it whenever we want."

"How about now?" She suggested testily, not thinking that the jedi, sitting up unexpectedly in a firefight might be bad, but by time she did, it didn't matter anyway, the control panel broken and smoking from an enemy bolt.

She gritted her teeth in irritation at the setback, and kept down.

    "Ready to heal."

Ewlla warily looked about the room; What was that? Then she spotted the medibot from the lartie, and waved to attract its attention, and jabbed a finger to Rex' supine form over by the door they had entered through. "Go check on Rex."

The lieutenant narrowed her eyes in concentration. If any of the remaining clones looked at the droid wrong, she was burning a hole through their head.

Reldin's bolts hit their target. One of them caught Killifer in the arm, the others hit the clone that was carrying him. Hat Trick dropped to the floor, lifeless. Killifer hit the durasteel floor hard and rolled a few feet to bump into the unconscious Rex Heaven. He looked up to see the med-droid hovering over the agent, scanning his body.

Wrister then realized that they were down to only three clones, and one of them was injured. Could MI5 really be that good? Or had something gone wrong during the cloning process? Were he and his squad not quite "up to par" with the true Republic clones?

Either way, he was a clone. A soldier. He wasn't created to think. He was created to fight. And one of his top priorities was to keep Killifer safe.

Wrister yelled to Blade and Five-hole. "Cover me!"

Five-hole, laying on the floor with quite a bad wound in his pelvic area, managed to muster just enough strength to point his blaster at the agents and pull the trigger. Blade also fired on them. Wrister then dropped Face-off's body and lunged across the room to grab Killifer. While keeping low, he began dragging the injured Killifer toward the doorway.

The blaster bolts came fast and both Shasta and Rax ducked back behind the consoles.

"Cover me!" She heard Wrister yell.

The lieutenant kept her head down, her forehead touching the end of Starkey's containment, and she could feel the sides reverberating under the impact of plasma bolts.

Only, there seemed much less intensity of firepower than could be put down by the full squad of clones. Had she and the agents taken down that many of them?

"Cease fire, cease fire. Clones, throw down your weapons," She called out, taking a chance that the enemy realised the tables had turned. "Surrender in the name of the Republic, and you won't be harmed!"

She rightly figured Mitch to be unconscious, when he did not shout a spoiling threat.

"Though for your own safety, you may want to stay under cover."

Shasta hid behind the computer console with Rax. She really wished they could have gotten Sharkey out of the stasis chamber earlier. They could have used his help. Now, both their Force-users (Rex Heaven and Mitch Nifesta) were out cold.

She hoped Sharkey could still be saved. Agent Reldin had cracked the codes on the console and announced it was ready to open, which Shasta took to mean that he could be removed safely from the chamber, even with the destroyed control pad.

The teams main objective was to rescue Sharkey. It could still be accomplished. The only problem was that Killifer could get away in the process...

As Wrister managed to drag Killifer out the door, he heard the female Lieutenant yelling orders "in the name of the Republic" back in the stasis room. Out in the corridor, the clone lifted Killifer up off the ground.

Killifer grunted in pain and said, "No, no. So much violence and death. I was told there wouldn't be any violence."

"Sorry, sir," Wrister told him. "The situation has changed. We need to get you to safety." He turned when he heard the clanking sound of metal on metal. Two of the IG-86 assassin droids approached, weapons ready. "About time. Where the hell have you guys been?" Wrister commented, not expecting an answer. He nodded toward the door. "The mission is awash. Go in there and kill anything that moves."

As the droids entered the room, Blade was heard yelling back at the agents, "We'll die before surrendering to the Republic!"

Antares listened to Ewlla's demand. It was a rather amicable solution to their conflict. He doubted they would take it. If they had gone this far, eliminating a few agents wouldn't bother them.

"We'll die before surrendering to the Republic!"

Antares heard the exclamation and raises his blaster carbine, squeezing off several rounds into the console where the voice had come from. As he stopped firing he heard the clanking of metal on metal.

    The IG units! Antares thought.

He went back to his wrist unit and quickly recalled the hacking program he had used earlier. He set it up as a continuous stream, as soon as the IG units entered the room they would be assaulted with Reldin's Trojan and hopefully become his to command again.

Wrister had hurried off down the corridor with the injured Killifer making their escape when the assassin droids entered the room.

From his vantage point (hiding behind a console), Blade could see the IG-86 droids enter the room. Under his helmet, he smiled. Now the MI5 agents were gonna pay.

In a different part of the room, Shasta and Rax heard the metallic footsteps as the droids entered. "Those are the IG-86 droids," she whispered to Rax.

Rax swallowed hard. Assassin droids? This situation just got a lot worse.

Then the droids stopped walking and just stood there as they entered into Agent Reldin's trap...

The entrance of the IG-model assassin droids was a game changer for the officer and the agent, and neither figured it would be a good idea to show their hand to automatons that could out-think, out-shoot, and out-everything them.

Ewlla kept her head down, making as small a target as possible, determined that neither droid should see her form beyond Starkey?s coffin as long as they stayed where they were.

Stay calm. Uncle Mitch?s voice sounded in her head. Try not to move. Have you got your blaster?

He nodded her head slightly. ?Yes,? she whispered.

Good girl. She frowned, surprised. She fancied she could feel the twi?lek?s approval of her, accompanying his thought. Was she imagining that? Stay hidden, but see if you can burn into Starkey?s containment.

    ?Understood.?

Making as tiny movements as she could squatting, with her knees almost sharing the same space as her head, she managed to manoeuvre her left hand to join the right one holding the blaster, so that she could adjust the energy setting from bolt, to a steady beam.

Laying where dropped by the now dead clones, his untidy form between where the IG droids had entered, and where Antares was kneeling, the supine twi?lek did not himself, move.

Up one of his voluminous sleeves of homespun rough fabric, under his Force manipulations, his lightsabre swivelled to point down to the floor, then activated, the white blade punching through the sleeve, and into the deck under the twi?lek?s arm...

Shasta and Rax waited. The IG-86 droids had stopped. They weren't moving. Shasta glanced at Rax with a confused look on her face.

Blade peeked around the console behind which he was hiding to see the two droids standing just inside the doorway. "What the hell are you waiting for? Kill them."

Five-hole, who had taken cover behind a different console, couldn't see Blade from his vantage point. He spoke into the comm device built into his helmet. "Blade, what's wrong with the droids?"

"I don't know," Blade responded in his helmet headset. "They're just standing there."

Shasta then heard a lightsaber ignite. A lightsaber? She maneuvered around to see Ewlla huddled up close to Sharkey's stasis chamber, but the chamber was still closed. It must have been Nifesta. She risked a quick peek toward the door. She could see the droids frozen in their standing position. Nifesta was still laying on the floor.

"I'm guessing there's something wrong with the droids," she said back to Rax. He nodded in response.

Then one of the clones popped out of his hiding spot and began firing, forcing Shasta back into hiding. The bolts singed the portion of durasteel right next to her head.

With Shasta back in cover, Blade made a run for it. He leaped up out of his position and immediately ran for the doorway. If there was indeed something wrong with the droids, he and Five-hole weren't going to stand a chance. Five-hole jumped up, fired at the MI5 operatives, and followed Blade.

The lieutenant kept enough notice of what was going on around her to guage any direct threats to her person, but kept most of her attention on her sidearm, as a coherent scarlet energy beam, as thick as the blaster's aperture, played over and blackened the surface of the coffin, as she started trying to cut her way in to Sharkey.

Mitch kept his eyes closed, waiting for the IG-droids to show their hand. His antics with his lightsabre, the energy blade cutting into the floor parallel with the countours of his body, was to drop himself into the room, space, if there was either, under the fllor, and out of sight of the droids.

Of course, that would not work if the floor was solid, with nothing beneath but more bedrock, but he did not know that at this stage.

"Oh, no you don't," Antares Reldin said, standing up from his hiding spot. He keyed commands into his mini keypad and the two IG-86 droids turned and fired at the two clones trying to make their escape.

The blue stun-rings hit Blade and Five-hole, dropping them to the floor. Their unconscious bodies laid in the doorway.

"It's okay," Reldin announced holding a hand up to his fellow MI5 agents. "I have complete control of them."

Shasta popped her head out from behind the console. "Wow. Nice work, Agent Reldin," she said, turning to look at the furry agent.

"And they're only stunned," Reldin added. "So we can still interrogate them."

The IM-6 medical droid, who had been scanning the unconscious Rex Heaven, announced in it's robotic voice, "This human is unconscious, but all other vital signs are normal. No injuries." Then it hovered over toward Agent Nifesta's body saying, "Ready to heal." As soon as it started it's scan, it paused. "There is nothing wrong with this twi'lek, other than the fact that he seems to have aged well beyond the average life-span of a twi'lek."

Agent Nifesta, if he were in fact to fall through the floor through which he was cutting, would find a large room underneath that was the same size as the stasis chamber room he was in currently. The room below would be filled with numerous generators and other electrical equipment that powered the consoles and stasis chambers above.

Rax Chopchura, standing up from his hiding place, looked around at all the death and devastation in the room. "Holy..."

Shasta Moonreaper patted him on the shoulder. "Welcome to MI5, rookie."

Was this the kind of thing Rax had to look forward to in his career with MI5?

In the chamber next to Lieutenant Iillor, Sharkey's body fluttered to life again. Reldin had successfully hacked the device, but the lid was never opened. As Jedi General Sharkey slowly regained his senses, the first thing he noticed was the smell of melting durasteel.

As Rax examined the body of human technician that was caught in the crossfire, he heard a groaning noise. The techie didn't have a pulse. The blaster bolt he took in the chest must have hit his heart.

The Pantoran agent, still wearing the clone armor he acquired at Q-Branch, moved to where he heard the groaning. It was Agent Rex Heaven. He was finally coming around.

"Wha--" Rex mumbled as he began to stir.

"Don't move," Rax told him. "You were hit with a stun beam. You missed the whole battle."

Rex sighed. "Damn." He just laid there on the floor. "I need a drink."

On the other side of the room, veteran agent Shasta Moonreaper walked over to Sharkey's stasis chamber. She saw Ewlla still crouched next to it. "The last of the clones have been neutralized," she said to the Lieutenant with a smile. "You can come out now."

Shasta reached forward and unlocked the glass lid to the coffin-like box. Pulling up on it, she heard a hiss and steam came billowing out. She fanned it out of her face and opened the lid.

There was Sharkey, the chubby, dark-skinned Jedi General.

Sharkey blinked a few times. All he could see was a big white blur.

"General Sharkey," Shasta said to him. "It's MI5. We've come to rescue you.

    "MI5?" Sharkey mumbled.

"Just relax a moment and get your bearings," Shasta told them.

Rax stepped up next to Shasta. "We should probably get outta here. What if they come back with reinforcements?"

"Don't worry," Shasta answered. "We've got a couple of IG-86 droids guarding us now."

Her blaster's beam seemed to be making some headway, and the lieutenant kept at it, enduring the hot air that drifted up into her face, though she had to squint so her eyes did not dry out too much.

"The last of the clones have been neutralized. You can come out now.[/"

Though she said nothing, she felt a surge of indignation. Like she was here, hiding.

There was a sound of either glase or metal, perhaps both, then Ewlla caught Shasta simply lifting open the coffin lid, and greeting the jedi, as if she had brought him his morning muja juice, and the news flimsi'!

"General Sharkey, it's MI5. We've come to rescue you."

"MI5?" Sharkey mumbled, a sound that she welcomed as she shut off her blaster, and cracked her knees audibly as she rose to stand over the supine jedi. If he could see her at all, her face would appear upside down to him.

"Just relax a moment and get your bearings." Shasta reassured the general.

"I was burning my way in," Ewlla advised Shasta testily, "where do you think all that smoke came from?"

She was slightly ashamed to be acting like this in the middle of the mission, but she had been a mere lieutenant for far too long, and this was her first chance to shine. She wasn't having this civilian misrepresenting her as some kind of coward.

The Corellian woman's eyes narrowed, suddenly remembering Shasta's actions earlier.
"Also, where do you get off, taking the credit for this rescue? Apart from the twi'lek and I, the rest of you could not surrender quick enough!"

Iillor glanced down into the coffin, giving Starkey the benefit of an upside down smile and wave. "Lieutenant Iillor, sir. Judicial Forces, also here to rescue you."

Rax stepped up next to Shasta. "We should probably get outta here. What if they come back with reinforcements?"

"It'll be difficult to find him now," the Pantoran agent added.

Antares looked back at all the computer consoles. "Maybe not." He began walking down the room, hoping to find a console that still worked. "Bingo." There was one at the far end of the room that had lights on. There were a few blaster bolt marks, but it was still running. "I may be able to hack in and do some digging."

Sharkey started to sit up in the open stasis chamber. His vision was slowly coming back. "Are we still on Nadiem?" he asked.

    "Yes, General," Shasta answered.

Sharkey looked up at the blonde woman he didn't recognize. He turned to see another woman. His vision was still a bit fuzzy, but it looked to be Ewlla Iillor. That was someone he recognized. And his ears hadn't deceived him. He thought he heard that name a moment ago. "Lieutenant Iillor. It does my heart good to finally see a familiar face I can trust." He rubbed his eyes, as if that would help his blurred vision at all. "Tell me, how goes the war in Threadneedle Canyon?"

?Sir, can you tell me what you remember??

"Well, I..." Sharkey stammered. He took a moment to gather his thoughts, and tried to distinguish which memories were real and which were fake. Through all the brainwashing, all he could remember was Killifer's face. "Someone I didn't recognize who wore a Republic uniform, found my position in Windsor and said I had been assigned a new squad of clones. He called himself Killifer." He paused. "I questioned it because I hadn't heard anything from General Saesee Tiin. Then..." He struggled again with the memories, sifting through them. "Then I remember...working from an underground base. But, to my knowledge, the Republic didn't have an underground base on Nadiem."

"Killifer tricked you," Shasta responded. "You were brainwashed, General."

Sharkey climbed out of the coffin-like stasis chamber. "Brainwashed? What about the clo--" He suddenly stopped when he noticed all the dead clones spread out across the floor. "My goodness... I must have missed quite a battle."

At the other end of the room, Antares Reldin successfully hacked his way into the network on the only remaining console that worked. "Gotcha. Let's see what we can find."

The twi'lek agent ceased cutting through the back of his robe, and the floor beneath him, and extinguished the lightsabre, moving to sit up. "Oh, now the situation resolved itself. " He pulled at the loose sleeves to check the charred damage. "Feth!"

He looked up as he heard Reldin's voice. "Gotcha. Let's see what we can find."

"Right," Mitch announced to the room at large, struggling to his feet, "I am going after Killifer, and any of the clones that are left."
"Are you going to kill them?" Ewlla asked, turning from where she stood at the General's side, arms crossed over the front of her uniform tunic.

"Not if you are terribly invested in keeping them alive;" He regarded his neice. "Are you?"

"Nah, frag 'em." She glanced back at Sharkey, wary of any signs of disapproval from the jedi master.

"Alright. Good girl." Mitch looked towards the open coffin. "General Sharkey? Good to have you back with us." He gestured to the lieutenant. "Look after her."

"Get out of here, you pirate," the young officer chuckled.

On the way past the silent assassin droids, the twi'lek stretched a hand towards one of the abandoned energy carbine, the weapon flying off the deck and into his waiting hand.

Mitch stopped at the doorway, and eased his face round the corner to look into the ante-chamber, in case Killifer and the clone set an ambush.

While Mitch announced he was going after Killifer, Sharkey was trying to piece everything together in his head. Then he watched as the Twi'lek used the Force to pick up a weapon. A Jedi? But Sharkey thought he was MI5?

"I may have found something," Antares Reldin said from the back of the room. "Looks as though someone paid Killifer quite a bit of credits to leave his job on Coruscant. The totals in his bank accounts skyrocketed just after his disappearance a few months ago."

"Killifer," Sharkey repeated the name. "Now I remember. He was the customs man on Coruscant that vanished."

"And I'm guessing he pulled some strings and used connections to move all that cloning equipment from Kamino without anyone knowing," Shasta added. "He is an expert in importing and exporting, after all."

"So all those cloning chambers were moved here illegally," Rax commented.

"Right," Shasta responded. "Killifer does not have a license to clone."

Rex, still feeling the effects from the stun beam, hobbled over. "An illegal cloning operation. All we were supposed to do was rescue Sharkey." He waved a hand toward the Jedi General.

Back outside the room, where the long corridor stretched along the rock wall of the cloning cavern, a door slid open. Marching through were four more IG-86 droids with orders to kill intruders on-sight. They were heading for the stasis chamber control room.

IC: Agent Mitch Nifesta, Lieutenant Ewlla Iillor

At the doorway, looking out into the corridor, Mitch aimed his blaster rifle in the direction he figured Killifer and the remaining clones had gone.

he did not notice the quartet of new assassin droids further up the corridor behind him. There was a sonic boom as he accelerated after the fugitives, air rushing into the space where he had been.

Inside the shot-up chamber, Ewlla had her arms crossed as she stood near to Sharkey, and listed to the agents chat.

Agent Rex limped up. "An illegal cloning operation. All we were supposed to do was rescue Sharkey."

"Well, we've got him now;" Ewlla observed, "should we pull out?" Now that she had the missing jedi, she was pretty easy as to their next move.

OOC: Yea I know. Say it "It's about time!"

    IC: Selena

Selena didn?t like this one bit. First she was captured by clones that were part of a project to infiltrate the GAR. Secondly; the Republic is paying for it.
    After the excitement died down,

"I may have found something," Antares Reldin said from the back of the room. "Looks as though someone paid Killifer quite a bit of credits to leave his job on Coruscant. The totals in his bank accounts skyrocketed just after his disappearance a few months ago."

Selena shrugged, ?Well we could destroy the illegal cloning operation. If we tell M15 about this they will tell us to come back. By then Killifer would be about to do something about it.?

    IC: Teras Maldern

Teras, who was hit by a stun staff heard Selena?s remark.

?That?s an excellent idea. I?m in.?

    IC: Ewlla Iillor

It began to dawn on the lieutenant, just what the agents were suggesting, and once she had fully assimilated the data, she put up a palm in protest.

"Whoa, hold your banthas!" She gestured to crackling repeater screens showing the dozens of glowing embroyoes and older, growing in their incubator bottles on conveyor belts and rings. "Those are sentient lifeforms out there. I'm not happy about this operation, either, but we cannot shut down their life support on a whim."

She looked around for Antares. "Are you able to shut down one without the other?"
