Challenge Life's a stage: The Star Wars Musical Challenge Thread (New challenge! "Bring Him Home" Due 9/17.)

I (Alexis_Wingstar) have noticed an upsurge of songfics here, most likely because of various challenges. Well, I thought it would be a good idea to use songs from various plays, operas, musicals, and rock-operas. I was going to make this a roulette challenge at first, but decided it would be more fun to make this into a board that will have challenges every six weeks. I will try to keep these challenges varied, fun... and, well, challenging!

Each challenge will have a six-week deadline and have these rules in common:

1) Post a link to your story here.
2) Post a link to this thread in the first post of your story, and mention "LAS Challenge" in the subject line.
3) Your stories must not violate TOS.
4) Have fun!

I will use the next four replies for indexing the responses to the challenges and list the challenges themselves. The reply thread will have the first challenge.

Challenges:

#1: "Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto"

Either write a songfic using the song, Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto, or take five lines from the song and work it into a story (any genre). Extra kudos if you work five lines of the song into the songfic separate from the song itself.

Deadline: Wednesday, February 20, 2008.

#2: "Climb Every Mountain"

Write a story based on Climb Every Mountain from Sound of Music. It can be any genre and does not have to have any of the lyrics in it.

What's the catch?

You cannot use any of the characters that were mentioned about by any of the authors in the first challenge! Not really all that hard, there were only seven characters... Vader, Grivious, Ben/Obi-wan Kenobi, Beru, Owen, Padme and Luke.

The deadline is April 7, 2008.

#3: "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"

Write a story, any genre based on the song, "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" from the Beatle's musical, "Help!". It does not have to be a songfic, but must include at least four lines from the song. Bonus if you include lines from any of the other songs from "Help!"

The deadline will be Saturday, May 31, 2008.

This is an interesting challenge. I'm in!

For working in five lines, do you want the lines in a row or just five of the lines scattered throughout the story?

 

Either way will work.

 

Interesting idea for a thread I'm definitely camping out here- looks like fun!

I'm going to have to try this challenge. I told my mom about it the other night, and for the rest of the evening she was randomly saying "I'm Kilroy! I'm Kilroy!" and then getting aggravated that I got the song stuck in her head.
