Light Sabers

    I have a light saber i made with PVC "blades" and i can rotoscope it i know all that i just want to know:

    1: what is really used as blades
    2:how do they connect or is it just a saber thats open and one for the belt

    In the movies, they use metal pipes for the blades, and have props with blades for the fights, and props without blades for wearing on the belts.

    Most fanfilm makers use wooden dowell rods for the saber blades that are removeable. To attatch the blades, the dowell is inserted into the hilt, and screws hold it in place. PVC pipes would work, but I really don't prefer PVC...

    I've done it both ways: removeable blades, and two seperate props. Either way is fine, though having seperate props obviously requires making more saber props...

    Also in AOTC there is a scene where Dooku and Anakin use neon tubes to fight, so that the glowing light shines on their face.
