Over the course of the EU we have seen the range of lightsaber colours expand from just blue, red and green. IIRC the first new colours we saw were Mara Jade's violet blade and the yellow lightsaber that Kyle Katarn took from one of the dark Jedi in Dark Forces II.

Since then we've seen varied saber colours become a staple of videogame customisation and they have been present in comics and other books. We've even seen Mace Windu's purple lightsaber make it onto the big screen and Ahsoka's lime-green shoto on The Clone Wars.

With the new trilogy coming are there any new lightsaber colours that you'd like to see on the big screen?

    How about multi-color, rainbow-colored lightsabers?

Yellow. It just makes visual sense to see that alongside blue and green.

Plus, as a kid who grew up with KOTOR, I know that blue is for strong Jedi, green is for smart Jedi, and yellow is for Jedi with lots of skills. Like computer hacking and such.

Wait... I thought blue lightsabers were for sad Jedi, green lightsabers were for greedy Jedi, and yellow lightsabers were for sissy Jedi. :p

I definitely want to see more lightsaber colors. TCW in addition to the EU already started showing new saber colors:

Pale, silver-ish blue (the sabercane looks white here)

Yellow (I definitely would like to see lightsaber pikes)

And of course there's the darksaber, an ancient black lightsaber from the time of the Old Republic. As much as I love it, I doubt we'll be seeing anything like it, because Lucas meant it to be an ancient precursor to the lightsaber.

That looks like something out of a lightsaber rave party. Lightsaber strobe lights, anyone?

Yellow: since it just is logical imho and t level cannon
Purple: its G level cannon now
different shade of green: T level cannon
silver: since I loved the white looking saber the original movie sometimes showed instead of blue, and a fan of imperial knights lol

This is actually something I was disappointed about the PT. I was really hoping to see some different colored light sabers. The best chance for that to happen was AOTC obviously. I'm actually holding out hope they'll update the film with different colors...

In the ST, I kinda want limited sabers. Make it as epic to see as the OT. When sabers are drawn you know it's about to get real!

I'd love seeing more saber colors and hilt designs as well.
Also, those Temple Guards in TCW were pretty damn badass.

I always thought blue was the color for "active", fighter type jedi (like Obi-Wan, Anakin) while green was for jedi who are rather passive, more peacful in mind and spend more time with meditation or teaching.

I went with yellow but they better have every color available in the ST. It was ridiculous for Lucas to limit the colors to just blue, green, red, and purple. Have all colors and various shades.

Go watch TCW, although I'm not sure if that was an actual lightsaber or something else.

I'd prefer they keep the three regular colors but wouldn't mind if there were other colors.

I wasn't saying that a black lightsaber is impossible I just didn't feel like looking up whether that was a lightsaber or not. After quickly consulting wookieepedia they say it is an actual lightsaber. As far as what colors we get I already said I don't mind but would prefer just red, green and blue. I really don't see any reason for them to go overboard and introduce every lightsaber color in the rainbow.
