Going back to colors, I used to be against a black bladed saber but after seeing it in TCW I wouldn't mind if the Sith Lord in Episode VII recovers it on a quest to collect ancient Sith artifacts and uses it as his or her saber.

Why is it impractical? We saw that a skilled practitioner was able to not hurt himself and still hold off two Jedi. Maul didn't just dive in with a fully powered and activated weapon. Specially designed sabers that wouldn't slice his limbs off and combined with the Force gave him his edge. His saber is no more impractical than a single bladed weapon.

Considering it was stolen from the Jedi...

    1. Doesn't change the fact that Savage stole it from Maul.
    2. Why didn't Maul have a double-bladed saber in TCW?

    1. How did he steal it? Savage just used one that was constructed for him or that he built himself.

    2. Maul didn't want one.

    1. He stole it from out-of-universe perspective, not an in-universe perspective.
    2. An in-universe explanation doesn't justify an out-of-universe decision.

Out of universe, I guess they wanted him to keep the saber he had in TPM, and it was cut in half by Obi-Wan. No biggie.

That doesn't make sense since the Jedi also use double blades sabers. Pong Krell was shown to have used them, did he steal it? No. There was a Jedi on Geonosis who had one. Did he steal it? No.

What does that have to do with anything? If Maul changes his mind, then he changes his mind. He chose to use one before Naboo and he chose to not use one afterwards.

Again, it wouldn't be an issue if Maul still had a double saber.
The problem is that the writers had Maul decide not to use a double saber.

There is no issue other than you don't like something.

Why is this a problem? Your argument doesn't make sense. Lightsabers are whatever the Force user wants. Palpatine had a saber with a short handgrip...

And then later on, he had a regular length saber grip.

All I was trying to say is that I don't like something. What's wrong with stating my preference?
See above. I just didn't like something and was stating my preference.

I think that one was supposed to be the weapon of a Jedi Master, which Palpatine kept as a trophy.

Nothing is wrong saying that you don't like something, but saying that they got it wrong is a problem. You said that Savage stole the saber design, which is not an opinion but making a statement about something that doesn't make sense. Same with saying the writers were wrong for having Maul not have a double bladed saber.

To go along with the idea I mentioned in the Plot Ideas thread about a possible army of non-Force-using Jedi Hunters, I think it'd be cool if they used white sabers. The lack of color can set them apart from the colored sabers Force-users wield. Plus, it'd be in keeping with the old McQuarrie trooper art that the Jedi Hunters could be based on.

If "the hand" rumor is correct, and they do make it Luke's Bespin hand (anything is possible at this point), then the new hero may end up wielding Anakin's blue light saber.

While I'd love Luke's blue saber to be passed on (I think at least a Skywalker per generation should wield it), the hand rumor is less likely than Disney going bankrupt before VII is released.

It'd be hard to do Silver without it looking white on screen. I'm for Orange, Yellow (Not sure why Yellow was nixed, as it is a primary), Pink (and I, too, am serious), fuchsia (or cranberry), cyan, viridian...

One advantage to multiple colors is that it helps the viewer tell everyone apart in long shots or when there's a lot going on.
