Saga Lightsaber Duels We Wish We Would Have Seen in the Movies

Which lightsaber duels never happened in the movies but we wish we could have seen? Post the winner of the previous person's match then post your own that we haven't seen. Time doesn't have to be an issue.

I'll start with:


Anakin Skywalker (Early ROTS timeframe)

vs


Darth Maul (TPM timeframe)

Next person that posts, post who wins my battle then post a new battle of your own that we haven't seen in the movies.

 

Anakin, easily.

Yoda vs Mace Windu, as a training duel

 

I'll go with Yoda since several sources have put him slightly over Mace.

My next match-up would be:


Mace Windu

vs


Count Dooku

 

That's a good one! I was going to do that next.

I think Dooku would win in a fight to the death, but I'm not certain. Dooku held his own against Yoda, but Mace held his own against Sidious. It's pretty close to 50/50.

For the duel:
AOTC Anakin vs ROTJ Luke

 

That's a good one. I'm going to go with ROTJ Luke for these reasons:

• A more experienced Anakin defeated Dooku
• But the even more experienced albeit crippled Vader lost to ROTJ Luke

In my opinion Dooku is comparable to Vader in the suit power wise. And ROTJ Luke was able to defeat Vader. AOTC Anakin was not able to defeat Dooku. Luke seems to have more patience and maturity in ROTJ so I'll go with Luke in ROTJ.

Hypothetical situation for my next battle.

When Anakin and Dooku are dueling on Grievous' ship, they both compare notes and realize they've both been played by Sidious and both turn on Sidious setting up this battle:


Anakin Skywalker (ROTS) and Count Dooku
vs

Darth Sidious

 

Mace held his own against Sidious by himself. I'd put Dooku on a similar level. I think Dooku and Anakin could take out Sidious.

Similarly, how about an alternate ROTJ ending scene. Vader comes back to the light before taking Luke to the Emperor, so we have:

The Skywalkers vs Sidious (in ROTJ form)

 

I have to go with Sidious. The lightning would still fry Vader's suit and I don't think Luke would be able to block lightning of that magnitude.

Next battle. Besides Obi-Wan and Anakin who are away on missions, there is a competition to see who the 3rd best duelist is on the jedi council. The 4 semi finalists are:


Ki-Adi-Mundi


Kitt Fisto


Plo Koon


Saesee Tiin


Who beats who in the finals?

 

Considering the other 3 went out like chumps, I'm going with Plo Koon.

How about ROTS Anakin vs Obi-Wan on level ground, let's say inside the Jedi Temple, but neither of them receives outside help.

 

Obi Wan would win against Anakin, I think.

Yoda versus Dooku, Attack of the Clones.

I don't think Yoda should have let the falling column threatening Obi Wan and Anakin distract him long enough to let Dooku escape.

There was plenty of room to throw it clear of the two; no need to hover it over them long enough for the Count to scarper.

 

I disagree with the above. I think Vader (pre-suit) beats Obi-Wan 9 times out of 10 at least on even ground.

And as for Yoda vs Dooku, Yoda should have force thrown the column into Dooku's ship, duh

Luke in ROTJ

vs


Darth Maul

 

Darth Maul would win. Luke may be an incredibly adaptive fighter, but I think the double-bladed lightsaber would give Luke a lot of trouble. Additionally, Maul can take more punishment than Luke can.

Ben Kenobi and Luke Skywalker (ESB) VS. Darth Vader. How would the fight in Cloud City have played out if Ben was still alive? Could Luke and Ben overwhelm Vader, or could Vader still come out on top?

 

I was tempted to go with Ben and Luke at first, but Luke was just no match for Vader at that time (ESB). Vader would simply toss Luke aside and deal with Ben. So I think Vader is able to knock Luke back & out of the fight with the force, kill Ben, then defeat Luke.

Now Ben wasn't alive at that time, but Yoda was. How about a 2 vs 2 match between:


Old Yoda (from ESB) and Luke (from ROTJ)

vs


Old Sidious (ROTJ) and Vader (ESB)

This is of course assuming that Vader stays evil.

 

If Yoda were willing to, he could use force lightning to fry Vader's life support, then Yoda and Luke would defeat Sidious. Otherwise, Sidious and Vader win.

Next duel:
Rebels-era Ahsoka Tano vs TPM-era Obi-Wan

 

That's a tough one but I'd go with Ahsoka in this duel. Ahsoka was a pretty talented duelist even back in the Clone Wars and by the Rebels era she must have improved quite a bit. She could take down two inquisitors without breaking a sweat. (Though to be fair, they're probably no where near as dangerous as Darth Maul was) Ahsoka seems very focused and in tune with the force so she wouldn't make any stupid mistakes against Obi-Wan, whereas Darth Maul seemed too arrogant and that was his downfall.

AOTC-era Anakin vs Kylo Ren

 

Is Kylo sporting a bowcaster wound?
Regardless, I think Anakin would win.


ROTS Anakin and ROTJ Luke vs ROTS Sidious

 

For the sake of comparison I always imagine both are at full strength going into the fight. To be fair it's a bit tough to compare since we only see Kylo duel when he's injured and not mentally focused.

As for the match up...
I think Sidious would quickly take out ROTJ Luke, similar to what Dooku did to Anakin in AOTC. That would leave Anakin and Sidious to duke it out. As of ROTS I don't think Anakin was at Sidious' level yet. Sidious wins this one.

The fight of the century

Ezra Bridger vs Finn

 

Ezra Bridger stomps. Finn probably gets his butt kicked by his own shadow.


TFA Luke vs ANH Obi-Wan

 

We don't really know what TFA Luke can do yet but since he has Skywalker blood I'll go with Luke.

Next is an all-out battle.

All of the jedi council + Luke and Rey:

All movie Sith + Snoke + Knights of Ren

 

Let's see: Yoda and Sidious cancel out
As do Mace and Dooku
And Vader and Luke
And Rey and Kylo
Obi-Wan is better than Maul
And we still have Anakin, Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi, Kit, Adi Gallia, and a few others vs Snoke and the rest of the KoR.
I think the Jedi win this one.

Now the prologue and epilogue of the rule of 2:
Darth Bane vs Darth Sidious

 

Well going by the canon we don't really know anything about Bane's abilities in a duel. Considering he was the last surviving sith I'm going to guess he was pretty capable. Have to go with Sidious though. Sidious was able to do what no sith could for a thousand years by taking down the jedi order.

How about...
Anakin vs Quinlan Vos - the only two jedi who beat Dooku. In the fight they're both in full dark side mode.

 

Anakin wins.

Hypothetical:
Jedi Anakin having reached his full potential vs Yoda in his physical prime

 

Full potential Anakin would beat anyone. He's the son of the force for crying out loud. Sidious even says he would become more powerful than either him or Yoda.

General Grievous

 

General Grievous. If Qui-Gon couldnt take Maul with 2 blades and using no lightning than I dont believe he could take Grievous with 4 blades who CANNOT use lightning. Qui-Gon was exhausted after a brief encounter with Maul in TPM, his age would cost him against Grievous.

I've gotta take Obi-Wan and Anakin. I think Anakin would take out Fisto pretty quick then it's a 2 on 1 vs Mace which he'd eventually lose.
