Following this topic being locked in SW Saga, thought I'd copy 'n' paste it in here, give it another go!

Just a quick poll really to find out firstly whether people prefer the PT hilts (more 'cartoony' I feel, with the big red buttons!) to the OT hilts (more metallic and varied), and secondly to find what people's favourite hilts are?

Name a favourite from the PT and from the OT! My choices would be Mace Windu's from the PT and Anakin Skywalker's (given to Luke) from the OT.

    jedi_master_ousley... how rude...

I like the hilts from the PT better. They are just cooler and they are more artistically designed. I don't like that big bar that you function aorund with to cut on your lightsaber in the OT.

    PT: Obi-wan Kenobi's
    OT: Old Ben Kenobi's

PT: Hmm, Mace's is really a quality piece of work...
    OT: Luke's new lightsabre.

Good point about the bars, was never quite sure how they worked - sliding switches? Pressure sensitive?

I still find the PT hilts to be too 'cartoony' as I said before. They kinda look plastic to me from what we see in the films! And I've still got loads against having a big red button on a hilt - it looks like next to it should be a small piece of writing saying 'On and Off'...

    Thoughts?

At least the PT hilts don't look like photographic equipment tube ;)

True... but they look more mechanical in my eyes, less like toys. Hey, just personal opinion :)

Well, I don't know. I've always kind of like Anakin's, but that's technically an OT hilt. Luke's is my fave, and I like Obi-Wan's in ANH, so I guess I'm going with the OT hilts. ;) :)

Ken Kenobi- And you have a nice day ;)

I like the PT ones better, the OT just look more aged.

I think Obi-Wan (PT) and Mace's are the coolest.

Well they're supposed to look aged. The Jedi haven't been around for a couple of decades during that time. ;) :)

Tough choice, but overall I would have to say I like the OT sabers better (just because Luke RotJ is my favorite)

    PT: Anakin AotC
    OT: Luke RotJ

I would say the PT hilts look more ornate and elaborate, but not cartoony.

    PT: Mace's AOTC hilt
    OT: Luke's ROTJ hilt

Hard decision, especially because I also love the classic graflex hilt that served as Luke's first saber and the inspiration for Anakin's AOTC model.
