This is the thread to discuss everything lightsaber related. If you desire to discuss the history of the lightsaber, where it came from and how the Force Users of ancient eons had steel first, then so be it. If you wish to discuss you favorite lightsaber hilts and the differing colors and their powers, feel free. If you wish to discuss the lightsaber forms from Shii-Cho to Soken, then feel free. If you wish to share your collection of sabers (from replica to toy) then feel free.

To get the thread started how about sharing the following:

Example

Lightsaber Type: Single (other options: Staff, Duo, Whip, Pike, and etc.)
Lightsaber Color: Blue (Pick from a myriad of the colors)
Lightsaber Form: Ataru (choose from Shii-Cho, Makashi, Soresue, Ataru, Shien/Djem So, Vapaad, Jar Kai, Soken, and etc)

Here is my choice:

Lightsaber Type: Duo (Standard and Shoto)
Lightsaber Color: Blue and Green
Lightsaber Form: Shien/Djem So

Nice choice. Djem So is part of my favorite lightsaber form.

 

Once I learned it was Anakin Skywalker's preferred form, it became my favorite

@Jetedonne Pur-Pureus very unique choice! Firesabers are quite spectacular to see in combat. You can actually get a toy version now at local retailers from the How to Train Your Dragon 2. It looks just like a lightsaber, even lights up like one and is orangish yellow. It has dragon's mouth at the top of the hilt, to create the illusion of a fire drake breathing fire.

Anakin Solo, interesting trivia, according to The Book of Sith, Djem So was originally a Sith form like Juyo/Vaapad.

 

Thank you. The How to Train Your Dragon one sounds gnarly, especially the dragon hilt, as some of my favorite sword paradigms are of the types with ornamental, eclectic designs or inscriptions.

 

Hmm, interesting. From Wookieepedia, I'd read up that the Form V variants were designed to cover up the flaws of Ataru. Shien became a particularly good method of combating adversaries with blasters, while Djem So helped you against other lightsaber users.

Lightsaber Form: Soresu or Atari, I mean Ataru

 

Anakin Solo, Ataru is my least favorite form because of the wide openings for counter-attack. I myself have practiced Shien/Djem So for quite some time. I also like Makashi and Jar'Kai.

 

Jar'Kai isn't as easy for me, I'm fine with Djem So cause it covers everything I'd need

Also, by omitting the third part of my name, you're tagging someone else and I'm not getting it

 

Jar'Kai is my specialty form. What I have been working on to no avail is wielding a Staff Saber. I can do the basics and do some theatrics that would make Darth Maul proud, but practically the Staff Saber is not my strength.

Ah, the curve hilted lightsaber. Most famous wielders being Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress. I once owned a curved hilted lightsaber and enjoyed dueling with it immensely.

 

Interesting set-up, because the curved hilt is designed to make the fluid motions of Makashi much simpler, IIRC.

 

I have never used Djem So with a curved hilted lightsaber. I typically use Makashi and Soresu. However, in the words of the Form II master, Count Dooku, "Stop using the conventional techniques, use the unorthodox!" This quote is from when Dooku is training General Grievous in the Clone Wars Cartoon.

 

Darth Bane performed quite well with a curved hilt using djem so
