LightSabers Vary?

    Ive noticed that some lightsabers cut through flesh and bone but then i see ones that just hit the enemy like a regular sword


    example- Obi cuts off the mandarins arm in a New Hope...but the in ROTJ Luke hits a lot of Jabba's henchmen but it simply knocks them over...



    Whats the deal?

    Notice that you don't actually see Obi cut the guy's arm off. ;)

    It's just f/x technology of the early eighties-they hadn't figured out how to make sabres goe through people just yet.

    It's a PG film. Imagine what it would have been like if limbs were flying all over the place. It just wouldn't have worked out.

    It does annoy me, too, BTW.

    Thats what i was hoping for in the prequals until they made all the droid stuff :(
