Lines You Misheard

I know this happens a lot in music and stuff, that people mis-hear lyrics or something, but, it happened quite a bit in Star Wars when I started watching it when I was little...for instance:

"Use your brains, sweetheart"
*(instead of HE'S the brains, sweetheart)*

"If you are what they fight for, yes"
*(instead of HONOR what they fight for)*

I can't think of any good examples, but some of 'em didn't really make much sense, and were funny when you think about it...but I'm shooting blanks right now.

 

"He even Feed her, and Maried her!"


I knew he said Freed, but that accent of his...

 

During the Cantina scene, I swear someone says "Dr. Quinn." (remember? Medicine Woman)

Most likely though, it's just an alien grunt of some sorts.

 

There was this local ad for a law firm around here and it was for this brother lawyer duo, Huffman and Huffman. And the commercial was a real slow woman singing "brooooothers in laaaaw, Huffman and Huuuuffmaaaan", and I swear to you it actually said "brothers in love, man and Huffman". The "law" and "huff" blended to sound like love. It was great.

Then, this new Advanced Auto Parts campaign "we're ready in advance", the commercial jingle always sounds like "alreaaaaady in your pants". It's epic.

Stormtrooper 2: Maybe its another girl.

Screwed up my view of what the Empire was doign for years.

 

In that last several years, I've noticed that one Ewok (during the scene where they first meet Han and the gang) sounds like he's saying "Martin Short" to one of the other Ewoks. Even a friend of mine noticed this.

 

I always thought the line "The Judland Wastes are not to be travelled lightly" was "A gentlemans waits are not to be troubled lightly"

In ANH when leia said ''you came in here do you have a plan for getting out'' I thought Han said ''Peas for brains sweetheart''

and in ROTJ when Lando asks about the sheilds I thought he said '' We gotta get some reading on that sheild I'm bored now''

mistakes

 

In the Ewok scene where Wicket meets Leia, it sounded like the Ewok once said: "Eat yo mama!" I think he said it when he heard the blaster shot and hid under the log.

 

Yeah, Lando, I always heard
"Abort now" instead of "up or down".

Oh Lando, how do I love thee.

Well hey, not only was I a kid, but Englsih ain't my first language.

 

That Ewok line where you thought he said "Martin Short"? The exchange is this:

Ewok #1: That guy's wise.

Ewok #2: That's for sure.

 

Even though the probe droids never said any actual words.. to me it always seemed that they were saying,
"Man is a tool shed."

 

Hey Lurking_around when I first watched starwars when I was 4 I also thought lightsaber=life saver

I always thought Vader said "I am your father". WHEEE HOO, you should've seen the look on MY face...ah, man, I hate myself.

"Emotions" even makes sense to me.

You know, with Yoda being that short and all...

Han: "Look, good against remotes is one thing. Good against a living, that's something else"

Meaning, playing with toys is great, but being able to make a living is what signifies you're really an adult. It made sense because Han seems proud he's able to make a living doing what he does, which is pretty unconventional.

 

A junkmans waste is not to be trampled lightly.

Ewok: This guys wise.

Ewok2: Not to mention hes short.

I thought the Ewok exchange was :

Ewok #1: That guy's wise.

Ewok #2: More than I'm short!

The bit I never got was from Bib Fortuna...after Luke's appeared as a hologram and offered up the droids, Bib leans over to Jabba and mumbles something followed by "He's no Jedi!"

I could never work out what the hell he said, it sounded like bargaining....something. Then I finally saw it on subtitles, and it's just him mumbling in that half-intelligible Huttese he uses

 

ok this isn't really a line but: half the time I honestly thought 3po was talking jibberish
