Dark Journey is part of the New Jedi Order series. Here is its order:

    Vector Prime
    Darktide I: Onslaught
    Darktide II: Ruin
Agents of Chaos I: Hero's Trial
Agents of Chaos II: Jedi Eclipse
    Balance Point
    Edge of Victory I: Conquest
    Edge of Victory II: Rebirth
    Star by Star
    and now Dark Journey.

Those are only the NJO books.

Oh, you'll need to read the rest of the NJO series then, the Vong were introduced at the beginning of the series.

actually, i would say that the yjk and jjk are completely extranious to the njo (you can pretty much figure out everything you need to know about those characters from reading the character guide, a far less painful process) but i would say that reading the hand of thrawn duology is a must as it sets the scene for a lot of stuff that goes on in the njo.

I haven't read this book yet, but i am told that the vong invasion truly begins in it...Rogue Planet. I will not read the prequel era novels, i have some of the comic mini-series, but thats as far as i will go (for now). Its not hard to believe that the vong invasion begins in Rogue planet, becasuse Corran in one of the Dark Tide books finds a dead vong from 60 years ago, and Nom Anor makes his first appearence in Crimson Empire 2. so i guess its feesable. Let me know if that is true or not...i am considering reading anything with the Vong in it so i can get a better picture of the whole invasion.
