T_F pointed out that Rachael Leigh Cook would make a good Jaina. She looks like a cross between Leia and Padmé.

some interesting opinions out here. I like the suggestions for Thrawn... Jason Isaacs, Alan Rickman, Hugo Weaving (Misssster Skyyywalker...). all cool.

you mean john cusack? hmm. actually, i never really thought of this before, but now that you've mentioned it... yeah, he'd make a pretty good Wedge! he's got the general look, especially with the straight brown hair & soft brown eyes. He can pull off a nice guy imitation pretty well- which is essentially how Wedge acts around lotsa folks, strangers especially... yet he has the acting ability to perform wedge's less nice guy roles which cover a larger part of the emotional spectrum (think: Wedge vs Isard, Wedge vs Councillor Pwoe).

doesn't really strike you as the strikingly handsome guy whom Ganner is supposed to be, no? How about we go for some racial diversity and pick a Northern Indian/Pakistani-looking character? I recall some other folks picturing Ganner as such a person... which would, conveniently, fit the description given to him in the novels. Plus, Ganner looks good in a moustache/beard. All Indians look good in that.





but does anyone else think we should have fewer actor/model types and more normal-looking people? Or at least actors & actresses from realms other than Hollywood? Bollywood, perhaps? the East Asian cinema landscape? someone suggested Lucy Liu for Alema Rar, i believe...

That Angel dude is David Boreanaz. I think that Matthew Fox(Lost) realy looks like the Jagg on the Japanese covers. He even has the same hair cut as Jagg. Check it out.

Get real. Mara's freakin 55 years old in the next books. How can she be portayed by a 17 year old?

Lindsay Lohan is younger than Jaina, and Tahiri in the next books. And I don't agree. Why do Mara fans think everyone with red hair can be a certain character? Dye isn't a person.

Edit: Okay that was a bit harsh. Just........no...

I really don't like LL. She might be hassled by the press, but she's just wrong. I don't think she fits anyone in SW. She's too "urban", too modern. She was cute in the Parent Trap, but overall, meh....

I think Elisha Cuthbert would be a good Danni (tell me again Jacen's straight), and I think no one really fits Tahiri. She's a tiny, small girl, with very fine features and very pale hair. i don't think there's an actress/mnodel out there that fits her.

 

not Lindsey Lohan! Unless its some sort of warped flashback. She's way too young to be Mara. Tenel Ka? Maybe. Mara? NO way. Actually, take that back......Tenel Ka is too nice of a character to be played by Lindsey Lohan. I liked Lindsey in Parent Trap, but have not seen any of her other movies.

And I think this can be for ANY part of the literature timeline - so my pick would be Diane Kruger. She's only about 30 years old (I didn't realize that until I looked her up on IMDB), though, so she'd be more for the Thrawn Trilogy only.

 

I actually agree with Tiershon on not one, but two points!

1st, Stone would make a good NJO-era Jade-Skywalker(IMO), and 2nd, I'd prefer someone who's close to the age of the character. This goes for all the characters.

Naomi Watts as Winter I can't see, unless we're talking Thrawn Trilogy of the X-wing books and comics. If we're going NJO, I'd personally go with Michelle Pfieffer [sp?].
