the treasures in the dark
secret looks, unwatched smiles
memories we didn't even know we shared
Little things I never noticed


Its in the little things
your eyes lingering just a bit to long
whispering things I pretended not to hear
for fear of feeling

a hand touching my cheek
protectiveness I don't need
yet you give anyway
Little things I never noticed


Its in the little things
the way you understand things about me
I didn't know existed
until you turned me around
Little things I never noticed


Its in the little things
your too intense heart
shadows I want to explore
yet you shy away from revelation
Little things I never noticed

Its in the little things
Laugh lines around your eyes
until I put frowns there
for my ignorance caused you pain
Little things I never noticed


Its in the little things
how you forgave me the frowns and pain
for no reason other then I am me
and you are you
Little things I never noticed


Its in the little things
strength you can never quite hide
the weakness you never even try to
being only yourself for me
Little things I never noticed

Its in the little things
that I never missed until you left
and came back to me
even though I nearly drove you away
Little things I never noticed....

Little things that meant I loved you.
