Live - Action Justice League Movie

It occured to me after finishing Justice League heroes, that I agree with earlier posts the best villian for this group to face has to be Darkseid. He's the only real threat to unite that many heroes AND keep the audience's attention. Who would really care about a bunch of generic aliens invading. If an audience wants to see that then watch Independence day. And having Lex and his cronies wouldn't work either. A Legion of Doom would be pretty hard to pull off and then there is the recasting that goes along with that. But Darkseid adds a great dynamic and offers a real threat. Those familiar with the comics and even the tv series will be able to pick him out easily. Plus when compared to the more realistic Superman Returns, Darkseid doesn't fit as well. But here with all these other superheroes that suspend belief, he's perfect.

 

You've got the Injustice League and The Secret Society, which have a number of villians. You can have one rogue from each hero to match up. Aside from Darkseid there's Mongul and Imperix. Rumor has it that Max Lord and the OMAC's will be used. Along with the White Martians which are basically evil versions of J'onn J'onzz. There's Monarch, The Four Horsemen and the Elite. There's all kinds of villians to use. Besides, Darkseid belongs to the New Gods series.

The show has come a long ways from the first season. Season two had Clark begin to learn about his heritage. Season three focused on Lex's slide into evil. Season four had the hunt for the Father Crystal. Season five had the threat of Zod and Brainiac. Season six had the Phantom Zoners, 33.1 and the JLA. This season will have J'onn, Kara and Krypton's backstory.

 

Gosling the JL Bat?

IESB.NET is claiming that 26 year old Ryan Gosling is Warner Bros./DC's top choice to play Batman in JUSTICE LEAGUE. The site's editor, Robert Sanchez, says via its message board that "I don't have confirmation nor do I know at this time that if Gosling has been talked to or even if he is interested in the role."

Well, this is not good news. Gosling is hardly a good fit to play Batman.

 

Hopefully that story is inaccurate. I wouldn't like Gosling as Batman in the film.

 

I don't get if they have no conformation at all or even a solid rumour, why put it on the site.

 

It's not on the main site it's taken from message board discussions.

 

That's a terrible choice...If it's true...Even if only considering. I think the guy's a decent actor, but he's no Batman. He would make a good Flash or Aquaman though.

I agree. If it was a CGI film and he kicked ass, then I could accept it. I'd accept him more as Aquaman or Barry Allen. Not Wally West.

I really hope it's not Jessica Biel, she's awful. Great body, sure, but can't act her way out of a paper bag. If she's Wonder Woman, I'm out...

Oh I think she'll be fine. Wonder Woman doesn't need to be an actor. I wouldn't call Linda Carter the thespian of our time. She's all we have for our basis. Jessica Biel by default HAS to be better than her. She's certainly hotter.

 

Shes not my favourite actress, but I suppose they could pick worse.

 

Sure, they could pick Bea Arthur. That would be worse, wouldn't you agree on that?

I'm pretty sure that Tom Welling isn't a real option. Some fan of Smallville started that, I believe.

Like I said, Jessica is nice to look at, from the neck down, but she's absolutely annoying. Has anybody seen that Stealth movie? If you have you'll know exactly what I'm talkin' about. She's just not very Amazonian Princess like to me. They should cast this thing like they usually cast Rock-star Bio pics...

Biel would be a decent choice for WW, not great but tolerable. As for Welling, I think his involvement is nothing more than speculation/wishful thinking on some fans' part.

Alternately, find a bunch of complete unknowns who can act, but haven't had a chance to prove it.

Neither of these people can act to save their lives... That's why one has failed movie career and the other will always just be Buffy...

Tom Welling has been confirmed not to be in the running anymore for Superman in JLA

 

The JLA movie is fraught with difficulties...least of all the absence of Routh and Bale. They are the legitimate heirs to the film iterations of the characters. Without them, I think the JLA falls apart or has to take a distinctly different direction...one without the big three (that means removing WW). It's possible to do and I think it might be worth exploring for the producers because there are several substantial hurdles ahead.

 

Top of the list was Bruce Campbell. Of course I was joking.

And yes, those to not only suck, but blow also. And at the same time!
