Sometimes you gotta wonder what people are thinking before they go and do something apparently stupid, such as Obi-Wan sneaking into the temple. I say apparently, because you never know until the entire plan comes out. Awesome chappies there, and I'm glad I can still read them, dumb libraians and all! See ya again soon!

Bekah So many questions! Answered today they are. :D

DL Glad you're keeping up. :)

    Sheila I won't! ;)

birdy [face_devil] You really freak me out sometimes.

PK Hard to tell with those two. [face_worried]

    Getting closer kiddies! :(

The scene that greeted them was one that Eitan couldn?t have conjured up in his worst nightmares. The main floor of the Temple was filled with saber wielding Jedi in fierce combat with one another. A quick scan of the throng turned up no immediate sign of Obi-Wan and Anakin. He was relieved to find that the combatants were attempting to disarm one another, rather than injure or kill. It gave him a glimmer of hope that the war could be resolved without loss of life on either side.

Eitan jostled his way in front of the two dark Jedi in an apparent effort to offer them protection. They made their way through the halls, following the path the battle seemed to have taken. The closer they got toward the Gardens, they found the floors littered with the bodies of Jedi. A quick scanned assured Eitan that they had merely been rendered unconscious. He was also secretly relieved to see that the majority of them were the ones supporting Vos.

Arriving at the entrance to the Gardens, they were greeted by a visibly agitated Kiran. Meeting Eitan?s questioning gaze, the younger man tilted his head in a prearranged signal.

"The men have Kenobi and Skywalker trapped inside Masters," Kiran informed them.

"Excellent work gentlemen," Vos praised as he swept into the Gardens.

Eitan was close on his heels as they pushed their way through the Jedi who stood guard with raised lightsabers. Garen and Tru were at the very front of the line as they broke through to find Obi-Wan and Anakin standing in front of a fountain with their ignited sabers held defensively before them in a two handed grip. Eitan met Obi-Wan?s stare with a narrow eyed look of anger that had the younger man raising an eyebrow in response to the unspoken rebuke.

Shooting a quick glance in Vos? direction, Eitan wasn?t surprised to find the other Jedi watching the unfolding scene with glee. Hands fisted on his hips, the cooling vents in the ceiling sending out puffs of air that had the dark Jedi?s cloak billowing about him, his lips curved in a smile as he barked an order.

"Kill Kenobi and bring me the Chosen One alive!"

Several of his remaining supporters began to move forward to obey the command. They were brought up short when a glowing blue blade swung out to block their path. Every eye turned in surprise to stare at the man wielding the weapon. Eitan slowly took a few steps away from Vos and turned to face the confused man. Blade held out toward Vos warningly, Eitan spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Your twisted reign ends here Vos. You no longer have control of the Temple or me. Surrender your weapon and turn yourself over for trial peacefully."

Stunned confusion quickly transformed into overpowering rage as the meaning of his words sank in. Vos? dark gaze turned murderous, his features settling into harsh lines. The unique yellow tattoos that crossed the bridge of his nose stood out and leant an almost demonic cast to his face.

"How dare you betray me?" He uttered through clenched teeth. ?It will be the last mistake you make my boy.?

A hand lifted and a bolt of electric blue lightening leapt out. Unprepared for it, Eitan was unable to bring his blade up in time to block it. The

Hey, chase me away??? You haven't insulted Qui-Gon in quite some time so I'm still here! LOL. ;)

Great fight. I liked that the Jedi littering the floor are just unconscious, for the most part. Jedi fighting Jedi is never good! There will have to be a lot of mopping up since the darkside spread so much in the Temple. It was sweet that Anakin stopped Eiten from iniitally killing Vos. Eiten will need his help in order to see the good he has done this day.

    Good job.

Whohoo! Death and chaos! loved it oe! I loved the way the battle between the two ended - very true to what i think Ei'n's character is - and in the end he make the right desision.

This ranks up there as one of my favorite fics.

The way Eitan was staring at him with his soul laid bare, had Anakin?s eyes stinging with tears. Clearing his throat, he stood and grasped his former mentor under the arms in order to help him stand. Draping one of Eitan?s arms around his shoulders, Anakin cautiously began to guide him from the Gardens. Obi-Wan, Garen, Tru and a visibly concerned Kiran fell into step behind them.

Okay, WOW! Very powerful ending to that particular chapter. Only 2 or 3 left? Oh no! Great story, very well written and engaging. Amazing work.

    "Master no!"

Anakin?s agonized cry echoed through the Gardens, halting Eitan?s swing midway. Breathing harshly, the blade began to tremble as Eitan stared into Vos? wide almost frightened gaze.

"If you do this, he wins. Don?t let him win Master," Anakin?s voice pleaded with him.

That was neat, Anakin calling Eitan master. Especially after he called Obi-Wan master and Eitan overheard it.

Now that they've got the Temple back, will Anakin continue to be Obi-Wan's apprentice or will Eitan finish his training? Or will Eitan take on another apprentice? So many questions... :)

"I have very vivid memories of doing this for you once before. Over the course of the last six years there were times when I allowed myself to doubt my belief in you. When that happened, Master Obi-Wan would sit me down, tell me to close my eyes and envision the happiest memory I had of my time as your apprentice. It was always that time when I helped heal your chest wound," he shared, his eyes slowly drifting open.

Very touching, not only that Anakin had that memory and cherished it, but that Obi-Wan had encouraged it. Wonderful!

Once again, o_e, you had me on the edge of my seat as I read the last three chapters. When Vos tells Eitan he is going to accompany him and assist in killing Obi-Wan, I was scared for everyone!

Great confrontation when Eitan turns on Vos. You can just feel his shock. So sweet when Anakin stays his hand in killing him. Those two are so sweet together. And the best memory...Wonderful! [face_love] Great pic of Eitan. He is definitely a character to be remembered.

Vos got his surprise that?s for sure. :)

Having the temple full of battling jedi is quite a site. The fight between Vos and Eitan was great. Loved the head banging :D and back stab. Those evil ones just don?t know when to quit.

Eitan has redeemed himself with not killing Vos in anger. =D= That was a fantastic end to Vos? reign. I also enjoyed the touching scene between Anakin and Eitan. Nice feel good post, Obi-Wan and Anakin are home. :) yay! I could not ask for more!

Yay! Great job! The scene was very well done. Would have loved to actually see the look on Vos' face when he realized who's side Eitan was really on :D

Loved how Anakin called Eitan master, and how Eitan faltered. Lovely little showdown in the temple :) But what's next? Could it possibly mean that this engaging little fic is at an end?

Can't wait to see how you tie things up.

I finally caught up on this and wow, it is great. I had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed reading this!

So I was right about Reeft (hint hint about how far behind I was... :( ) and I will say now that I do like Eitan and no longer suspect him. Congrats, you have defeated my paranoid side.

You did an excellent job writing all of the action scenes. They were very entertaining. Unfortunately, I suspect that the end is near for this story. That makes me kind of sad. (It appears my timing is as good as ever ) But no doubt, it will be a good ending, and I look forward to reading it!

    Fantastic Job!

The huge pristine white Alderaan Diplomatic Cruiser, the Tantive IV set down in the Temple docking bay. As the ramp slowly lowered, the group assembled nearby to greet the passengers exchanged relieved glances. The last week in the wake of Quinlan Vos? defeat and subsequent death had been one filled with confusion and a sense of uncertainty. Those left in temporary charge were ill equipped to deal with the prospect of what to do with their brethren who had supported Vos, especially a master of Saesee Tinn?s stature. Temporary holding cells had been constructed in the abandoned lower level of the Temple where the beleaguered Jedi would await news of their fate once the old Council was once again assembled.

Chances were that most would receive demotions and be forced to undergo sessions with the soul healers. It had soon become apparent after speaking with them, that Vos had lied about his true intentions. While they believed he genuinely hoped to reform an Order that was rapidly losing its true identity, his real plans included an eventual overthrow of the Supreme Chancellor. Vos one day planned to declare himself emperor and rule the galaxy with an iron fist.

Obi-Wan shot his young companion a look of understanding as Anakin shifted uneasily. Their future was just as uncertain as those who?d supported Vos. There was no way of knowing what the Council would say to their return after such a hasty departure. It was his hope that Anakin would at least be welcomed back with open arms. Being a child at the time, he shouldn?t be held responsible for the choice Obi-Wan had made at the time. Those concerns were put on hold as a wave of figures began to file off the ship.

In the lead were the score of Jedi who had vanished while on missions. Master Tiin had voluntarily divulged the location of the planet where they were being held prisoners. He?d convinced Vos that there was more use for them alive than dead. In the event of an attempt to overthrow him, the lost Jedi could be used as bargaining tools. Tiin?s concern for their lives sparked a measure of hope that he too could one day find a way to redeem his past actions.

Offering them a deep bow, Obi-Wan turned back to find Master Ali-Allan herding his large group of younglings off of the vessel. Youthful faces lit up with open delight at being back home, the excited children rushed toward the doors that would take them back to the creche and familiar surroundings. As the regal Jedi approached them, Obi-Wan noticed the young boy who clung to the creche masters hand. Deep green eyes worriedly swept the dockingbay in search of something or someone in particular.

"Obi-Wan, it?s a pleasure to see you back under our roof," Master Allan told him, squeezing his shoulder with affection.

"Thank you Master. It?s wonderful to be home. Do you remember my apprentice, Anakin Skywalker?" Obi-Wan inquired with a gesture toward his companion.

"Of course. You?ve grown up well young Anakin," Master Allan told the young man before glancing down at his charge with a faint frown. "I don?t suppose either of you has any information about Master Eitan? Young Tamir here is very worried about him."

Anakin did nothing to conceal his surprise at the news, his attention centering on the boy. Obi-Wan himself was curious to know exactly what the connection was between the boy and Eitan.

"He sustained a leg injury and is currently at the Healers," Obi-Wan began to explain. The boy?s startled gasp had him squatting down in order to meet the troubled gaze head on. "He?s going to be fine Tamir. Healer Bant assures us that with time he will be good as new. Perhaps Master Allan would allow Anakin to escort you to see him?"

Smiling faintly as the innocent face stared up at him beseechingly, Master Allan nodded. "As long as it?s a quick visit. You need to get settled back in with the others."

"Come with me Tamir," Anakin told the boy, his hand held out.

While two of them began to move off, chatting like old friends, Obi-Wan broached the que
