Falling
Isen't optional
It just happens

Suddenly
You drop
Emptiness below you


Reaching
For no reason
Except to see what you touch


Looking
In the dark
Trying to understand the light


Crying
Is more then just tears
It envolves your heart


Explaining
Takes more work then its worth
If needs doing, do it


Hopeing
Is painful
But I try anyway


Smiling
Keeps others going
But it isen't always real


Teaching
To those that don't understand
Is impossible without compassion


Loving
Is work
And worth every minute

Living
For the breath of others
Except when my love reminds me to breath

Leia sacrificed a lot to be a diplomat and help save the galaxy but in a way it rewarded her but in a way the path she choose was a lonely path.

it seems (to me) that you were trying to protray Leia's choice she chose a path and gave her all to it but she gazed once in a while at other paths. yet at times she walked two roads.

Ashley: Exactly! That was exactly what I was trying to say, although not in such exact terms of course. She sacraficed so much, and never really turned back, she followed her goal, pursuing it relentlessly. But asscaionally she might imagine what her life would have been like otherwise....But in the end she see's what its gotten her, what its done for others, and see's her family, and knows she was right. Thanks soooo much!



Aeryn: I kinda liked that line too. But the first one is the one that just sorta popped into my head, finished and complte. The rest of the poem grew from there. Thanks, glad you read it.

Very nice portrayal of Leia. It does seem like, as a diplomat and a leader, she has to give up so much for others. She really does live "for the breath of others." Nice poem.
