Yeah, just look at L.A. They've survived without a football team for like 20 years. :D

Wow. 5/5 mics. It's only March, but this could be post of the year.

Let's cool it with the hyperbole. Labor dispute or not, there wasn't going to be any NFL games played this Sunday. Or next Sunday. Or the Sunday after that etc.

But it just goes to show that two sides of overly-rich people can't get along, and that the fans suffer from it. If not for missing games, then for rooting for players who don't really care about the people who actually make the sports go. Apparently, the NFL hasn't learned its lesson from baseball's strike of 1994.

Hey, I just hope one day my boss and I have a discussion on how to split the second billion dollars of revenue.

Can the rest of us here at the Arena get a billion dollars to split? :p

I mean, if we have enough fan support to actually have semi-active threads over the course of the year, we have equal rights to some of the revenue. :p

Either that, or the money we pay to see games goes into player/owner legal fees. o_O I'd rather have the revenue.

We should go propose a compromise, that neither owners nor players get that billion, and that it comes to us instead.

Seriously, it would give them some common ground when they jointly laugh and throw us out of the building :p

Or we could all receive identical form letters from the NFL telling us to go away. :p

They wouldn't send form letters if we actually went in person. Though we'd have to make sure it wasn't high up in a building. None of us want to get tossed out of an upper story window.

Or we set up a very large stunt cushion at street level to break our fall. :p

I'll pass on it, even with the cushion :p

I actually heard someone the other day suggest that the fans should strike in the fall and demand lower beer and hot dog prices.

While they're at it, strike for lower concession prices overall.

Either the NFL thinks that the lockout will be over with by August or they are hoping that it's over by then.

Looks like there is some serious progress being done to get something signed next month with the players getting 48% share of total revenue.

Just from what the article says, it sounds like a good deal for both sides.

This NBA lockout just might be the nail in their coffin and frankly, I don't give a crap. I've watched middle school basketball tournaments that are more exciting.

    [link=http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=6723645]NBA to lock out players[/link].

So much for any kind of momemtum that the league was building with the Heat and Mavericks championship series. I don't see the NBA rebounding (pun intended) from this if a whole season is wiped out. The sides are very far apart and numerous teams are losing money.

The NBA projected $300 million in losses this season and said it lost hundreds of millions in every season of this CBA, ratified in 2005. League officials said 22 of the 30 teams would lose money.

NBA.com is locked out right now. [face_laugh] store.nba.com is alive and well though. What a shocker.
