I just asked my mom if she'd been to the comic shop recently for me so hopefully I'll have my comics by the end of this week.

 

Sorry- dad needed the computer for half the day.

Anyways, got my copy if the second issue yesterday, and things just got kicked up a notch. Not going to post spoilers here, but I WILL say things are building. Towards what kind of climax, I'm not so sure anymore.

I'm utterly stoked for the next issue, though. When does it come out again?

So a little over two weeks (technically, 16 days) from now? Aww, nertz... I HATE waiting. *sigh*

 

The worst part of waiting will be between issue 4, 5, and the novel. If I remember the publishing schedule, 4 comes out, then the novel, and finally 5, but the novel is set after 5. I hope that's wrong, because other wise it's just really dumb.

 

Yeah, I know. Just gotta find something to do until each new issue and the novel are released.

Maybe reread the first two issues again back-to-back and see if/how that changes my perception of the storyline?

 

Good to see another well written and well characterized female protagonist in star wars- in my opinion there aren't enough

 

Sadly it is true. The novel comes out Jan 25th, and Part 5 on Feb 16th.

Here's something to distract you and consider when rereading issue 2: what is Geordi La Forge doing outside Gorlan's home?

 

You're kidding. Seriously?

 

Seriously. When Gorlan is speaking to the citizens outside his home, look between the the guy in the mining hat and the blue elephant... man that sentence sounds weird.

 

Not to me, anyways.... then again, I AM the guy who thought up things like a guy who got turned into a radioactive eggplant saving the world from seven-foot-tall pink iguanas giving everyone atomic wedgies (long story... let's just say it involved a school assignment and leave it at that ). So maybe it's just me.

 

Sounds like the plot to a Captain Underpants novel.

 

I hadn't looked at the background characters that closely, but you're right. He's definitely there.

Too bad the latest book hasn't, to the best of my knowledge, come out yet.

I don't know. They left the last one off on a cliffhanger like the last few. *shrugs*

 

I wonder if any of the Jedi vs. Sith/Darth Bane trilogy characters will show up later?

 

I suppose there might be, but I think the reason that JJM set it close to JvS, but not too close to it was so fans wouldn't expect Bane, for example, to show up. Sorta like what he dealt with with the KOTOR comics with speculation that Lucien or Zayne would become Sion any of the video game characters.

 

A young Farfalla would be awesome. And I think seeing Kopecz as a Jedi or Qordis would be cool.

Farfalla's almost too awesome for them to consider doing- especially if it'd also mean we got to see the Fairwind again.

...yes, I AM the JCF's biggest Fairwind fan. Flying, turbolaser-spewing galleons FTW!

Get it. Read it. JvS is a great trade. Different than nearly all of SW EU but still brilliant.

I think JJM mentioned that no JvS characters will appear at any point as Hoth is still a baby. Farfalla probably hasn't been born yet.

 

It's only 32 years before then. I'm sure Farfalla has been born and Hoth is more than a baby. They were both Jedi Masters.

 

I was aware of that quote. The whole bit about it being a generation before Lord Hoth and Farfalla sorta precluding their appearance.

Still, a Farfalla and Fairwind fan can dream about 'what-ifs'- no law against THAT, right?
