    Just counting down the Fridays.

I am confirming that I will be wherever we decide to meet on Friday October 17th.

Still no location, time or movie lined up.

I look forward to meeting everyone then.

May the force be with you, always.

Steak and Ale is my favorite restaurant... I really like Olive Garden... *thinks*

Oh, and my mom says she'd love to come along -- not much of a Star Wars fan, but oh well. :p

Oct. 17 is booked for me to be there. Now lets see www.hollywood.com has a page for October Movies to see what will be on.

I was thinking when we pick the place to meet at we need to find a specific place to meet at at that place. Example if we meet at the front door etc.

I was thinking that depending on the movie we are going to see would help to determine where we should eat at. We don't want to be on the other side of town from the movies and have all of try to meet at the movies before it begins.

I think the movie theatre on Newberry, has alot of places to eat around it. We could park in that parking place and walk to the place to eat.

    Just an idea.

I got to thinking, movie ratings.

In deciding what we want to see, is there anyone that needs to stay under the R rating.

So far Oct 17 the following will open

    Khachaturian
Nine dead gay guys, ( I would like to skip this one)

    Pieces of April

    Sylvia

    The flower of evil

The Runaway Jury This one has my vote so far, its based on one of John Grisham's books.

    The Singing Detective

The texas chainsaw massacre - Skip

    Veronica Guerin

The only one so far that I know anything about is the Runaway jury because I saw the previews for it.

The others I will have to do more research on to see, except for the ones I noted where the title says enough for me to skip.

The movies opening before Oct 17 are:

    Out of time

    School of rock

    the event

    the station agent

    wonderland

    bus174

    mystic river

    dopamine

    girls will be girls

    gloomy sunday

    good boy

intoleralbe cruetly This is a george clooney and catherine zeta jones movie

    kill bill vol 1

    the house of the dead.

    Don't know anything about these.

As it closer to the time we will be able to pull up a list for each movie theatre to see what else could still be playing.

Let's try to see a comedy or something light.

Skip psychotic killers looking for blood.
    I don't like slasher movies.

Any ideas for dinner? I'll go for Olive Garden or Steak and Ale.

    Who else has any ideas?

Olive garden or steak ale is good for me.

a light movie or comedy works for me also. Will have to do some research to see which ones are what.

Does anybody have an idea for a movie that we should check out to see if we are interested?

Have we come up with a approx. time we would like to eat and see a movie. Like eat at 6 or 6:30 to see a 7:30, 8:00 or 8:30 etc.

School of Rock looks like the cutest movie!

Another thing that concerns me is that one of my best friends, whom I haven't seen in ages, is coming to visit me on the 16th and is staying through the 19th. I can't guarantee I'll be there, but I can check with her and see if she wants to come along -- I'm sure she'd enjoy it as well.

Dinner at 6:30 sounds good to me. Either of those places are good. I think I am going to get a babysitter for my daughter, Mara though. That way we can all enjoy the movie much better.

Pros and cons to Steak and Ale

Pros: We should be in and out in no time.
Cons: It's on the south side of Archer Rd. Crossing Archer could mean the use of "aggressive negotiations." (the 17th is on a Friday in G'ville)

Pros and cons to Olive Garden

Pros: North side of Archer Rd and easier to get to the theatre if its Regal Cinema.

Cons: Olive Garden could be packed.

Either way, we / someone I should do a call ahead for reservations.

Another good idea is to get tickets for the movie before we eat. That way we are guaranteed to see the showing.

    Just a few helpful ideas.

Looks like we are going to have to figure out the movie part first, then dinner.

    Outline of things to do:

    1. Figure out what movie we want to see.

    2. Get tickets

    3. Decide where to get at.

    4. If needed make reservations.

    5. on the 17th meet at the place of dinner.

:D I think we need to decide on the movie by the 13th or 14th, by then there should be a way to see what will be playing and the times etc.

You are right about Steak and Ale, that on Friday night will be tough for sure and especially if there is a football game in town that weekend.

No drama, there is no homegame that weekend. Gators play Arkansas in Little Rock.

I was thinking about Schlotzsky's Deli on 34th St., just south of Archer Rd. There is also Outback.

I am open to any and all ideas and looking forward to meeting everyone.

    Best,
    Darren

Not a lot of good choices for movies. Do you just want to have dinner and play it by ear?

A movie would be cool, but it has to be a worth while movie.

Either way, I'll be at Steak and Ale at 6:30. I am 6'1" with brown hair. If you have been to my profile you can see what I look like at my profile page from UF.

I do need to let you all know, I don't have internet access at work, so the last time I will be able to read my e-mails will be Friday morning.

Chat soon and see you Friday,

These are the ones I've narrowed my list of choices to. Okay Steak and Ale sounds good so far. I think one of the girls that works with me is coming. Maybe we should say like meet out by the front door of whereever we meet at or something like that. I will try to get online at home some time tonight. But I will be watching this thread today at work also.
