Looking for a Beta with Padme experience

Greetings Exalted Ones! I'm new to the boards, but have been reading the Fan Fic on TF.N for several months now.

There's a ton of great work out there, and it's inspired me to start my own fan fic - a 3PL of Padme.

Wondering if I can interest anyone who's written/read extensively about her to volunteer to Beta it for me.

I'm almost finished with the first draft, and would really appreciate some feedback.

A Moment of Weakness

Deep in the darkest recesses of her soul, she knew the countless horrors the galaxy had seen these last 18 years had transpired because of her weakness.

Living with that guilt had become unbearable.

Shrugging off a chill, she stepped off the stone veranda and closed the doors behind her. The brisk evening air off the lake was cool, and caused her to readjust the cloak around her. The breeze was not what had caused the shiver to go up her spine. She realized she had not returned to that spot in nearly two decades. Not since being escorted home after the Battle of Geonosis. Not since her wedding day. Her moment of weakness.

Padmé moved to the hearth and added another log to the fire.

It would make no difference, she realized as she moved to the chair next to the fire. How many years had she spent cold and numb? Too many to count. What had happened to the woman who had been so beautiful, so vibrant, and so full of life? Where was the young queen, who had united human and Gungan to thwart a massive off-world attack? How did this happen to the senator -- the political idealist -- who had struggled so hard to bring peace and a better life to the galaxy?s citizens?

Padmé shrugged again. As a younger woman, she would have enjoyed a quiet sense of pride with those accomplishments. But now, sitting here in this quiet, forgotten villa, she realized there was little to be proud of in her life. She had been a pawn in a game much larger than she could have possibly realized all those years ago.

Not a day had gone by in the last two decades that she hadn?t thought of Anakin Skywalker. The harder she tried to shut her mind?s eye to those images, the more vivid each memory became. How often had she wished Anakin had actually died during the fateful battle between her husband and his mentor on Mustafar. Had that battle ended differently, her grieving would have eventually ended, and the widow?s life would have been much happier. She would have known her children.

Her daughter would not be dead.

 

I'd be happy to do it. What you have posted is amazing.

 

Wow! That was amazing. Like I said, I am not very good at being a beta reader, but once you get this fic up and running I will deffinatly be there to read it.

Keep up the good work, and let me know when you get this going.
