Right now I'm in the mood for some loud, fast, fun action music. Doesn't have to be great musically, but replayability and headache-inducement level must be high. I'm thinking along the lines of The Rock, which when I got it I must've played seventy-gazillion times, and The Touch, which is eccentric enough to make replayability really high for me, and Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, which has been playing a huge amount recently. Any suggestions?

Also, in an unrelated question: does anyone know where I can find a copy of Williams' The Witches of Eastwick? There's a track from it on a compilation album I have, and I think it's great fun, but I can only find the score going for upwards of $50, which is a little pricey for me right now. . .

Here are a few that come to mind:

    The Mummy Returns (Silvestri)
    The Avengers (McNeely)
    Die Another Day (Arnold)
    Tomorrow Never Dies (Arnold)

And though I've only heard the music in the film, I'm pretty sure the Van Helsing disc might be up your alley.

For Mummy Returns, is the official release sufficient or is it worth it to track down the complete score bootleg, which apparently has all the music that wasn't completed in time for the official album's release?

IMO, the OST should be sufficient, but if you really like what you hear in the movie, I was able to download the entire bootleg soundtrack off WinMX in about a few weeks. If you do want to, use WinMX. Kazaa doesn't have it.

Other recommendation (speaking of The Mummy...):

    The Scorpion King (John Debney)

Yeah, I was planning on picking up the scores for all three Mummy films one of these months.

How does The Scorpion King compare to Debney's CutThroat Island?

Well, I can't compare since I've never heard Cutthroat Island. For the Scorpion King though: The Scorpion King's action music is almost always fast and loud, and sometimes it does get a hint of fun. The action cues almost always feature huge percussion and an electric guitar in the background, if you wanted to know.

 You haven't heard CutThroat Island? Get thee to a music shop!

Seriously, it is, by far, his best score.

The sound tracks of the KOTOR game were as genuine as SW movie. I never noticed them during the first time I played, I was battling against hordes of enemies. But second time playing through, it hit me how outstanding and depthful they were. I downloaded some tracks from a LucasArts fan site, and was blown away.

Hmmm. Fast, fun, loud action music... The Rocketeer is good if you don't have that. I'm not quite sure if it would completely qualify, but it's worth a shot. Most Silvestri scores should work. The Back to the Future scores in particular come to mind. These may not be up your alley, but they're what I'm coming up with. Good luck in your quest!

I'm sure you probably have it already, but
the GLADIATOR score, particulary track #3,
"The battle" is great. It gets the juices flowing.
Also, the track from ROCK IV called "War" is great
for working out/running. James Horner scores are
also full of energy (ST II, Krull, The Rocketeer).

One last one to mention, but not to recommend
necessarily, is from the 80's Karate flick
"No retreat, no surrender." It is commposed
by Paul Gilreath. This is a rare one, and
is quite expensive $40-50 +. It has quite a
cult following. It has many training montage
type of tracks. I don't own it, but have seen
the movie many times and I have looked at the
track list. If they ever play the movie on
cable, it's worth checking out for the music.
Pure 80's synth goodness. Too expensive for
    me though :(

Backtrack have a copy of Witches of Eastwick for sale... if you are willing to pay £140 for a second hand copy

Aside from that, the best price I have seen for it lately was $40 for the complete score on eBay, I payed something around that price for it not too long ago.
