I think it's Carmina Burana by Orff, but I'm not 100% sure.

According to theonering.net the three "pre-hears" that you can download from elbakin.com ARE real tracks from the actual FotR-soundtrack.

Just to clear up any confusion, the songs in question are:

    - Concerning Hobbits
    - Aniron
    - Lothlorien

And I think they sound VERY Howard Shore-like. Remember the "Silence of the Lambs"-soundtrack?

    TRAILER MUSIC:

In the second theatrical trailer which were released, the melody which is playing during the pictures below is called "Mother Africa (reprise)" It's made by Hans Zimmer and is from the soundtrack for "The Power of One".

AMAZON.COM's "EDITORIAL REVIEW" OF THE SCORE (the most interesting part has been highlighted):

Score composer Howard Shore has informed this first installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy with his distinctly modern sensibilities. Revolving loosely around a brief, heroic brass theme, this epic is infused with a powerful rhythmic thrust and a musical range that encompasses centuries (from the Renaissance pastoralism of "Concerning Hobbits" to the fiery, Prokofiev-influenced drama of "A Knife in the Dark"). Key to the score's sense of mystery and magical place are the rich choral passages that are interspersed throughout, some so ominously gothic they make The Phantom Menace's "Duel of the Fates" sound almost sunny by comparison. Enya's contributions ("The Council of Elrond" and the song "May It Be") add a sense of organic tranquility, but it's Shore's Wagnerian-scaled orchestral score that should long be cherished by admirers of film music and Hobbits alike.

    (Pretty cool!!!... don't you think?)

It IS the melody in the end of the second trailer...

Did you download "Mother Africa" or "Mother Africa (reprise)". You need to download "Mother Africa (reprise)"!

What's the difference between the Lord of the Rings soundtrack and the Lord of the Rings Limited Edition soundtrack? They seem to have the same track listing...is the latter worth 10 dollars more?

Uh, there IS some sort of LOTR soundtrack from the LOTR cartoon that came out a long while ago, but I don't think much of the *current* LOTR music is released yet.

P.S. Can anyone direct me to the 2 FOTR songs with lyrics that everyone's raving about?

Mas, those 2 soundtracks you're talking about- are they both for the *new* FOTR movie? If so, man, I am confused. :D

Have any of you heard the latest clips that have been posted? TorN has posted links to "May It Be", and excerpts of "Aniron", "Lothlorien", and "Concerning Hobbits".

In short: this is one score to rule them all.

I am no longer worried about how the music for this film is going to turn out. Thank goodness, because that was one of my primary concerns remaining...

Here are some links. They were still active last time I checked.

    May It Be (lyrics)
    Aniron
    Lothlorien
    Concerning Hobbits

Like I said. These are short, low-quality clips (except "May It Be", which I think is the entire song) but they will blow you away.

Interesting clips, didn't totally blow me away, but they sound good. Shouldn't worry too much about the music though, Howard Shore has proven to be quite a talent for all different kinds of scores.
