Well i finally saw Last Samurai and i have to say that it was a phenominal (misspelled i think) movie!!!! still cant compare to LOTR to me but alot of other people disagree..... but all in all i enjoyed it a whole. LOTR speaks to me more than LS.

    LOTR? Leprechaun: On The Rise?

    Not another Leprechaun movie....

Hmmm... Guess I'm just not that big of a Lord of the Rings fan. Enjoyed the films, though. Enjoyed Last Sam, too. But neither had my teeth sweating or my eyes feeling like sandpaper... (of course, the same may be said about our upcoming project...)

R2, that was the one that made me think... hey, they've made two many of these things....

Kind of like a lot of folks say about the "Ernest" movies of the 80s, 90s... but hey, I still watched them...

Like I said Last Samurai was good and I enjoyed it throughly... but you are talking about Lord of the Rings... the Fantasy that inspired a culture to develop... the biases D&D was built upon... the archetypes that are ingrained in your minds when you hear Dwarf or Elf or Ranger... in sheer scope, Lord of the Rings is in a league above and beyond The Last Samurai.

I think you have to look deeper into the movie "The Last Samurai." Before you can really appreciate the movie you have to get a sense of understanding of their culture and their religious beliefs. I think this movie accurately portrays how things were long ago in Japan.

Lord of Rings was good; do not get me wrong, however it was done with all of the modern computer graphics and what have you. The fights, the clothing, the entire movie of The Last Samurai were authentic.

I do not think you can compare these two movies; one is fantasy that has sparked cults and other games from it. The Last Samurai is a reenactment of events that supposedly taken place so long ago.

They are both equally good. However, since I have been taken world study courses, I appreciate The Last Samurai more than Lord of the Rings.
