Actually, it is a good movie, Eddie-wan. But Entropy nailed it on the head with his comparison.

 

Oh I'm sure its good. Netflix should be shipping me a copy today. I'm just not a fan of Tom Cruise.

see now i'm not a huge fan of tom cruse either i thought his two best films i saw came from the early
80's Taps and Legend i'll still give the last samurai

Its good, fu2.... I think you will enjoy it.

 

Saw it last night. Was pretty good. For some reason I still have trouble seeing Cruise in that kind of role. I guess he will always be Maverick to me. Anyway, good movie overall. The swordplay was great. Didnt care for the ending, as I thought it was a bit much that EVERYONE dies except Cruise's character. Alas, I guess it just STILL wasnt his time. Kotsumoto was my favorite character. Powerful yet honorable man.

 

Well, if it didn't end that way, he wouldn't have been "The Last Samurai".

And just a heads up reminder for everyone, Return of the King comes out on dvd this month on the 25th.

I can see why you dug this movie Shindo. I, too, like the Samurai. Very Jedi-like in their ways. Discipline, power, faith, and above all else, honor. The jolly good was funny.

 

And I wanted to jump Taka's bones so bad.
