LotR: Return of the King in Moncton

Not sure if you guys know yet, but ROTK won't be premiering at Empire Crystal Palace next month. Apparently due to some internal studio politics... usually, there'll be a new Harry Potter flick out at this time that Famous Players can have, except this year.
So ROTK will premiere at Famous Players 8.
Which is great, since the cinemas there are quite superior.

But... I've never known Famous to have midnight showings, which has become something of a tradition.

 

I'll probably be catching it on the island since I'll be working during the week, but I'll be seeing it a few more times, and since it's at Famous Players, I'll definatly check it out in Moncton (though I may need to take out a bank loan to afford the popcorn ...)

 

I'll actually be back in town right in time for it... my last exam is the 16th.

It's not playing at Crystal Palace? Oh, man that blows!!! Oh, well. It'll still be a great movie to go see.

 

If by "blows" you mean "great, because crystal palace screens and sound systems suck" then you, sir, are correct

 

Well, if you guys want to make it an ff meeting. I'm in. Especially if it's playing at Famous Players, at least we're getting better quality.

 

Nope. Actually what I mean by "blows" is, in fact, "BLOWS!!" Crystal Palace has better staff, better food, more comfortable chairs, the price on the food isn't ridiculously high, and --get this-- less than four commercials before the beginning of the movie.

Probably the only thing going for Famous Players is bigger screens. Otherwise, its staff is filled with brain-dead ingrates, there are at least six mind-numbingly boring commercials before the movie starts, and there has been --within my experience-- three occasions to which they had to cancel the film because of technical difficulties.

Give me Crystal Palace any day.

 

I think all theatres overcharge for food so I don't buy it. For both TPM and AOTC, the sound quality at Crystal Palace was crap!

At least at Famous Players they have huge screens in every theatre instead of two or three like CP. And they comfy chairs and great sound. I don't pay attention to the staff.

 

As long as the staff doesn't notice me when I'm trying to sneak my cheap food in, its all good. Big screens are our friends, and commercials can be tuned out.

I hope we make a meeting of it!

Well, my little brother is friends with some employees there (and just now became one himself), and he said that there's a good chance that Famous WILL have a midnight show.

So there's hope yet!

I'm going on the Island for sure after work at 9pm, and possibly the mifnight show the night before with my brother

 

I was trying to figure out if you were talking about the "mifnight" showing or one I'll actually be able to get a ride to.

I know I can go Wednesday night because I don't have to work on Thursday. When is the midnight showing?

 

Well, if there is going to be a midnight show (at Famous Players) it'll be the night of the 16th (TECHNICALLY, the 17th, but you know what I mean)

 

I can go on the 17th, since my exams and all finish then.

 

Well, I can go sometime after 10 on the 17th.

 

Just confirmed from my brother, there WILL be a midnight showing on the 16th.

 

Well, I'm out, gotta work on Wednesday.

 

I can't get late night transportation.
