Folks, albeit Star Wars is pure greatness, there's definitely a ton going for Lord of the Rings and I was wondering if anyone wanted to camp outside the Uptown theater on Connecticut Avenue on the night of December 17th (the movie opens on the 18th) in order to snag tickets to the first show?

Anyone else up for it (if they could stand a night of cold for Harry Potter, I'm sure we can do it for this)?

is there another Lord of the Rings movie ?

I didn't know they were making a sequel. I bet they find some way to bring that old wizard guy back from the dead.

    from me

    no way ;)

I know loads of people love LotR - the books and the first installment on the big screen

    I don't.

Thats just me though - I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

    Sorry.

I'm sure there will be some people camped outside Uptown for the release of TTT, but I doubt any of the GS lot will.

I can't camp out anywhere (job and all that) but do we know when tickets go on sale? Because I'm going opening day.

I finally saw LOTR on dvd last month. It was a good movie but I am in no way a fan. The only movies I will ever see lots of times are SW, SW, and SW.

It could be cool, just something to do the night before. Tickets go on sale on December 18th and if you're a fan, this might do the trick. Honestly, I think the geeky fan base is there, went to Red Dragon at the Uptown last night and the new LoTR trailer was by far the best of what was there.

Nothing too major in the way of a camp out, just wanted to do some sleeping bags the night before

    What do you think?
