Love or Hate: Rectangular Waffles

I once was served waffles in the shape of rectangles (the ratio of L/W was approximately 1.23 to 1). At the time I felt that this was blasphemy, and that waffles should be served in perfect geometric squares (or in an ideal world, circles).


...................My views haven't changed. Rectangular Waffles are the devil.

 

I'm indifferent on the shape of the waffle. In my mind, all waffles are inferior to pancakes.

 

Pancakes are a flawed design, dear sir. There are no convenient holes to hold the syrup or butter in place!

 

Squares are ok. Rectangles are just wrong.

The only acceptable ratios are between 1.25:1 and 1.34:1

 

Rectangles fit in the toaster better than square ones. Square ones either leave a lot of space that could be taken up by more waffle or they stick out the top and not all of the waffle gests toasted.

 

Well at least there's one thing we can all agree on. They're a hell of a lot better than those damn pancakes.
