This thread is for the Lubbock Fan Force to post meetings and events; hopefully we can drum up some Star Wars activity here in Lubbock.

We don't have to do Star Wars stuff all the time; we can meet just for lunch, a movie (any movie, not just SW), concerts, etc.

We only need three fairly active members to count as an active Fan Force, and moreover I'd like to meet with the other fans in town for activites like costume and prop building, collector swap meets, etc.

Please post your input! I hope to have a meeting sometime soon.

Anyone with questions or comments, please feel free to PM me or email me directly: ianw@1570.net

It's good to see Lubbock back in action. :)

I'm putting together Mid-South Newsletter so if you guys have anything you want in it let me know. :)

BTW is Joanzia still around? I haven't seen since she stepped down.

Well I'd like to go ahead and start discussing dates for a meeting; I'm also hoping that if we plan far enough out for this we can get better attendance and all meet each other.

As for me, early February is right out as work is too hectic- I'm thinking a weekend sometime later in February or in early March.

I can arrange for a meeting room at the Science Spectrum with a free behind-the-scenes tour of the Omnimax; we just need to pick a date!

    Hey all-

I'd like to have a lunch get-together for anyone interested; I can only do Mondays and weekends.

Also, I'd like to extend an invitation to the local fanforce (or any other fans passing through town) to tour the Omnimax projection booth; I'm working there weekdays as of last week. It's a standing offer, just ask for Ian when you get there or wave at the dude behind the glass.

Hi! Well, I will be moving to Lubbock sometime towards the end of the summer to attend Texas Tech for grad school. I would love to participate in some of your activities. I am a big fan of SW!

Hello to anyone who might be reading this....

I'll be up at Barnes & Nobles tonight (Friday) for the big Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix events. I'll have a blue& white NASA cap and an Omega Wing t-shirt on, and I'll be there from about 10:30 until I can get a copy of the book.

I'd also like to welcome TK-6921 to Lubbock; he just moved here from Portland via Hobbs.

    Cheers all,

    Ian

I saw a jeep with both Rebel and Imperial stickers on the back "glass" on 82nd street today. Any idea who it might have been (it was a male) and where I could get stickers like that?

I saw that jeep not too long ago. I waved, but I'm pretty sure the dude just thought I was crazy.

Good for you for getting out of the ghetto. Now you can leave your house without getting worried sick.

I'm trying to recruit some folks for the FanForce meetings. I plan on going by Star Comics and putting up a flyer once I get time. Work has kept me so dang occupied this week.

Glad y'all had a great time at the Plano con! Wish we'd had more time to hang out. We did find out that the Laser Tag at the nearby Main Event is dual-level and lots of fun...we've all got to try it next time you come to town :D

    Hey Brian-

yeah, I wish we'd had more time to visit. Being outlanders, we needed to stay with our rides, and you seemed pretty busy with that table yourself.

I am defnitely up for some laser tag next trip, probably sometime next spring. I'm stuck here in town for the next few months while we get the new theater up and running.

    Have a good holiday season!
