I think when he says "volcabulary," he means "What was in the normal vocabulary of the world during the 30's and 40's?" So I think Nazi like actions are implied. Also mass hunger and such.

Joel Peterson described Episode 3 as "Nuclear Winter."

People will be dying from starvation. Worlds will be shattered. They will need guidance and someone who'd not dead yet to blame for their problems. So they blame the Jedi. After all it was they who ordered the Clones.

Well that's what I believe.

 

And the "Nuclear Winter" theory also helps to explain why starships leave a more aesthetic design, into something more blunt, harsh, and "to the point"

 

Oh, I hadn't heard the nuclear winter description, but I do agree that the 30's-40's comment probably referrs to Nazi Germany. That reference will continue on through the OT, too...

I makes sense that the people will turn on the Jedi because of the Galaxies misgivings from the CW

 

I'm sure the 30's 40's thing is Wizard of Oz. Picture it, Palpatine and Vader skipping down the halls of the Jedi temple, Vader occasionally stopping to impale some young Padawan, singing If I only had a heart.

Then for the Final Edition of ROTJ, when Palpatine is picked up by Vader and thrown down the shaft, he can sing a verse from If I only had a brain.

 

you're forgetting (at least no one is saying it outright) one of the biggest events of the "30's and 40s"...the dropping of the
A-Bomb!

Perhaps there is some kind of large scale attack or "mishap" that the Jedi are blamed for on the large scale of a nuclear weapon?

Hey there were definite references to OZ in Episode 2. Why wouldn't there be more in Episode 3.

I'll bet you that if Obi Wan gets a chance to sing in Episode 3, the movie will make $100 million more than it would otherwise.
