Lucas has stooped too low this time!!!!

We've all known it for months, but tomorrow night, we will see the bearded one on the Apprentice. Now, I can forgive him for his excessive milking of the cash cow for all these years, but to actully go on Donald "I'm full of myself" Trump's show to get the best marketing strategy for episode 3 and battlefront 2 is... well just plain evil.

 

I sense a "lock" in this thread's future, and the mods seem to frown upon using a "$" in Lucas' name. They view it as baiting or something.

 

I don't think that having a $ sign in the title is the best idea. And it may not be the best marketing plan but the show is about selling stuff[sometimes], becoming a good business manager, and marketing. They will probably be using it as an example.

 

It justs frightens me what some of those apprentices will suggest, and what Luca$ will allow!

When you have people with their mind on their money, and their money on their mind, bad, bad things can come up. Luca$' greed combined with that of 20th Century Fox created the holiday special. And we all know how that turned out!

Every filmmaker wants his movies to sell well. this is quite simply advertising.

The attitude I was referring to was how you seem to think that every successful company has no right to push their products. It's how business works mate.

 

Of course, but.. going on a REALITY SHOW to promote your movie with DONALD TRUMP, the king of business sounds a little over the top to me. Associating Lucas with Trump and reality shows just seems low. Regular marketing like he has done is understandable, questionable at times, but understandable.

 

I jsut fail to see the big deal here. Lucas, himself, is king in his respective field when it comes to success. Why is this so wrong a partnership?

I agree. This is a marketing oppurtunity where both parties benefit. Trump gains SW viewers [who want to see the DVD promo] and higher ratings because of it. Lucas gets a good way to promote the DVD and BF II on a show that has a national audience. I'm not against it at all. If this is one way Lucas is going to promote the two items then I'm fine with it.

 

Star Wars is just too good for reality shows and Trump.

 

While you may think reality shows are unacceptably bad/evil/sleazy, not everybody does. I personally don't like reality TV and find it somewhat distasteful, but I don't really see anything wrong with Lucas doing this.

Using Luca$ is just a cool way to bash Lucas among those who sit in their yoda underroos surrounded by merchandise, not reallising the irony. Anyway, it was a bad move on Lucas' part, I feel, to associate himself with Donald Trump, someone notorious for having dollar signs in his eyes.

 

Don't watch it. I don't need to watch that dumba$$ show to know about the DVD.
