JCC Lucas Museum probably will not be in Chicago

So I'm sure everyone has heard about the fact that George and his wife were invested in building a museum on the lakefront of Chicago. Plans were drawn out, and a site, which right now is a parking garage for McCormick Place, was eventually picked. However a group known as "Friends of the Park" pretty much put the kabosh down on the issue due to a lawsuit. The reason the building was coming to Chicago is that Mrs. Lucas is from the City and a number of groups were working with Mr. Lucas on creating various programs and plans to help the city.

So now, they're going to look outside of Chicago and my brain's just exploding because while I'm all for Park land in the city, which was part of the Burnham Plan in the first place, this was going to be in a section of the city where there's a parking lot and would have created more green space.

I just...I'm not even sure what to say about this.

Other then what I said, I mean. It's a really contentious issue in the city as it stands.
