Luke riding the Tauntaun...

Just watching TESB again, and noticed that the scene looks rather stupid.

In the distance shots, the Tauntaun with Luke riding it is obviously running, however, the close up shots - ie: Luke talking to Han on the comlink, the Tauntaun doesn't look like it is moving at all. For example, Luke is not moving in the saddle, and the background is not moving.

Huh?

 

Maybe he stopped up to contact Han.

 

No, he doesn't stop, becuase the footage is intercut with him talking to Han, and the Tauntaun running...

 

I just watched the part. Luke stops and sees the 'meteorite' then contacts Han and is attacked by the Wampa.

 

Hmmm... perhaps we have both perceived it different ways?!

 

Maybe. I see the overhead shot of Luke and then he stops on a small hill, looks around and pull out his binoculars. Doesn't move any more after that.

 

That`s probably 1 effect that`ll look a LOT better in the Ultimate Editions

 

Several people can see or hear the same thing, and interpret it very differently, like they're seeing or hearing something else. A lot of arguments start that way.

He doesn't move while he's talking to Han.

That's what I was just about to say. It's Han in that shot that's causing the confusion. Luke comes to a stop while he's talking to Han.

Anyway, I agree that it was Han's tauntaun running.
