    thanks. I know someone who apaprently can make the gear for me but shes busy alot.

    Do u have any info on the pants? What about teh boots? Those Motorcowboy bespin boots dont seem right at all. Looks like he made a leather version of a non leather boot.

    A better idea for the jacket...

    The Falcon Jacket
    The pattern is $18 but i think it's the best thing out there

    I'm still searching for pants myself actually. I'm doing a costume very similar to Luke's bespin gear.. Its pretty much the same thing, just on a different character.. I dont know too much about this costume yet to give you a good option for pants or boots.... but i'm sure someone else on here can!

    For reference, there's a vinyl Bespin Luke figure from Kotobukiya that I saw on ebay. As for the Motorcowboy boots, I believe you can request to have them made in suede instead of leather.

    i bought a bespin costume from someone i saw on ebay. I missed the auction but luckily it wasnt sold and i was able to get it still. Everything sounds like it should fit me just right, which is very lucky. I get fatigue jacket, pants, boots, FX luke ESB saber, and belt. The fatigues are a more grey tone and are missing the right sleeve pocket but everything else seems to be pretty close enough. I plan to dirty it up good and make it the end of duel version, IF i can get the fan club jacket and another pair of pants for the clean look.

    Here is what im getting:

    [image=http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/2885/frontbackkp2.jpg]

    What is so inaccurate about the fan club jacket anyways? It seems pretty decent to me. Im not super knowledgeable about this costume yet so someone please tell me whats the errors with it. Also how much would a jacket really be worth? I know someone who has an XL that would fit me and he wants me to give him offers for it, but im not sure how much i should.

    well i finally got my luke gear, and its very nice. Belt rocks, and jacket, pants and boots just fit me right. They are pretty tight, but the bespin gear was pretty tight on luke anyways. I also bought the fan jacket on ebay in an XL. I hope it fits nice. Im doing a dirty and a clean version of the costume. I already got a grass stain on my pants from doing this pose.

    Not bad, though the boots are inaccurate, as I suppose you already know. ;)

    Looking good there, B. Are you going to also make the "post-Vader fight/hanging on for dear life without a right hand" version? [face_laugh]

    yea i know about the boots. They arent perfect but are surprisingly close enough. With some new painting, they will be good. Im gonna battle damage my gear still. I have a grass stain on the knee already. Ill proabably rool around outside some more too. What else can i do to give the dirty illusion. I was thinking of breaking up some compressed charcoal from my art supplies and rubbing it in. Even some acrylic paint on a rag might work if i do it very thinnyly in application. But still i need to look over the film for better dirty shots. I know he has a rip in his left knee but i dont know if i want to do that yet. The same with his left shoulder its pretty ripped up, along with his left front jacket pocket. I dont want to rush the distressing process or i might mess up badly.

    well i do troop as anakin usually. Lukes hair is decently long, just not so shaggy in the back. But i have to make due, im not realy willing to cut it yet and use a wig for anakin.

    MorgonKEN-BUR, it doesn't look like the same costume. Great job. Please give us insight on how you achieved such good weathering.

    sorry for the late response. Basically its just compressed artist charcoal i use in school, and acrylic washes for the grass stains and some of the more greyer tones to some of the spots. I used a tooth brush to scrub in the charcoal as well. My fatigues are somewhat stiff because of the spray or dye used when they were colored (i bought it this way), but because of this it acted like a cavas and was easy to work with. Then i took a pocket knife to the gear for the rips. I studied the movie stills i captured, for a while though so i got the stains very close.
