It is a law of Star Wars: The shield generator, reactor core, or anything else that might cause the ship to stop working must be put in a spot where it can be easily hit, damaged or destroyed.

Ric: That little Battle Droid command ship did it! It hit the generator! Maybe we should've put a shield on the shield generator, too. But look over there! I recognize that little blue droid from the other movies!

Obi: I don't remember ever being saved by a droid...

Upon watching TESB for the grillionth time this weekend, I have yet another new appreciation of Leia: the anachronistic mother of Ric Olié:

SCENE: The Hoth Rebel Command Center. Data on the Imperial Probot is being analyzed.
OPERATOR: It's metal . . .
LEIA: Then it isn't one of those creatures! (i.e., Wampas).

SCENE: Han Solo returns to the bridge of the Millenium Falcon after Leia calls him up. Thousands of asteroids appear, filling the cockpit window.
LEIA: Asteroids!

SCENE: The Millenium Falcon's hyperdrive fails to kick in; the ship does not go to light-speed.
LEIA: No light-speed?

I get *so* sick of people cheering for Bobba Fett and Vadar, it makes me *so happy* to see that there *are* other Luke fans out there, believe it or not! Luke is just absolutely THE BEST!!!!!!!!
