How can Luke and Leia's births be a spoiler?

Surely everyone here who has seen TPM and AOTC as well as the OT would know by now when the twins will be born and they don't need spoilers to tell them this.

By the way, Bib Fortuna, they're 20.

 

No, they're 18. Every current source says so.

If after the opening crawl E3 tilts down to a pair of crapped diapers, they're 20. If not, they're 18. Just wait and see, or keep going back and forth with Bib. Your choice.

I, for one, also always thought (because I read it) that they're 18.

But there are more that say they're 18. In fact, the only source that says they're 20 is an offhand remark in the ANH novelization, the same novelization that also says Leia is 18.

yes, Episode III takes place 19 years before the Battle of Yavin.

but as i said before, luke and leia didn't turn 18 the day they popped up on the screen! they could be anywhere in their progress from 18 to 19! we will never know an exact day, but we do know that the numerical standard for age of luke and leia is 18! get over it! they weren't 20, 19, 43. They were 18 years old. Be sure to read the whole thread. A lot of the stuff in the past day is being repeated.

 

I was just recently visiting TFN's Ultimate Timeline for another reason, and it seems to indicate that Episode III takes place 19 years before the Battle of Yavin.

Of course, that could yet be revised, but if Luke/Leia are 18 in ANH...

I believe that the time difference between Episode III and Episode IV is between 20-29 years. But Luke and Leia are too young to be over 25, in my opinion. I would say between 20-25.

What if they're were complications with the pregnancy and Leia was carried another 18 months? That would explain any age difference between Leia and Luke.

 

I always used to assume Luke was 18.but now I'm not quite sure.I read earlier in the thread were some of you said that episode 3 takes place 3 years aftr AOTC.but I thought it took place 2 years after AOTC? I know this was quite a awhile ago,but I remember GL saying.

"Episodes 2&3 act almost as a 2-part episode,with episode 3 taking palce 2 years after Episode 2"

And if you really want to be confused, my copy of the OT scriptbook says Luke and Leia were 16

But I ignore that completely.

 

I always pictured Luke's age as 17-18 tops.
