I've been doing some research into this as well and it looks like your best bet is going to be basing it off of an Old Ben saber. Apparently, Luke's stunt saber in ROTJ was the same one used by Alec Guiness is ANH, so you won't have to make many changes.

Big Yellow Box has a "Ben-inspired" saber, and partsofsw.com has some pretty good reference pics. Good luck, and be sure to show us what you come up with!

For u, or anyone else, click on the picture through the link and you'll find a copy of plans to that saber. Incase you want a machined one.

I made this Luke ROTJ saber about 2 years ago, i posted it here before, only in the fan films section.
I made it on a lathe out of aluminium and its made of about 5 seperate parts - then screwed together.

If you need any advice - pm me, i would be happy to help

I haven't done it myself because I'm still building the ESB saber, but if you can spend a little money on the pieces, you can make it with a sink tail piece, a sink knob, a graflex clamp, a circuit board ender from blast-tech, a wooden dowel that fits perfectly inside the tail piece, a pvc pipe, some black d rings, some metal washers (about 1.5 inches across), and a hose connector. This way you can put a rod inside and fight with it. I got the idea from a combination of two tutorials on big yellow box. The one that looks kind of like the ROTJ saber and the obiwan saber. The metal washers have to be able to fit around the pvc pipe and the pvc pipe can be glued or screwed into the wooden dowel. I don't know how to connect the hose connector to the pvc pipe because i haven't done it myself yet.

All I want to know is what I could use that look's like Luke's R.O.T.J. light saber emitter. Because I want to make my own light saber hilt.

Its a bad picture of the emitter, I should have taken a staight on shot, this shot just make it look really bad. I since took apart the saber and I have no idea where the emitter is, all I remember is I took differenece diameter pvc, and thicknesses, and interlayed them then glued them in place, and put a large washer, I believe on top, hardly accurate, but I years ago, I'm sure if you used the same method it could look much better now.
