Bueno como ya casi la mayoría sabe, Elvis Presley es mi ídolo, y en un día como hoy hace 30 años falleció a causa de un paro respiratorio... les dejo una extensa pero muy correcta biografia del Rey...

Agosto 1953: Un sábado por la tarde, Elvis visita los estudios del Sello SUN en el 706 de la calle Unión en Memphis. En ese momento la oficina del Memphis Recording Service (el mismo Sello SUN), era atendida por la secretaria Marion Keisker quién recibe la petición del joven Elvis para ser considerado en caso de alguien necesitar un cantante, a lo que ella decide indagar preguntando a quien se parece en el canto. Elvis responde no parecerse a nadie , aprovecha la misma visita para hacer una grabación por 3,98 dólares en la que interpretó por un lado "My Happiness" (original de 1948) y por el otro "That's When Your Heartaches Begin" (original de 1941).

Junio 26, 1954: Sam Phillips, entonces de 31 años, pide a Marion Keisker encontrar a Elvis para grabar un demo de la canción "(It wouldn't be the same) Without you". Necesitaba alguien muy diferente, que sonara como de raza negra. Sin embargo, pese a que la grabación se realizó, Phillips no quedó satisfecho del todo, pero intuía que Elvis daba para más.

Julio 4, 1954: A solicitud de Sam Phillips Elvis es a enviado la casa de Scotty Moore (guitarrista) con el objetivo de consolidar su trabajo acompañado de una banda de músicos experimentados. Vestido con camisa negra, pantalones rosados con una raya negra, zapatos blanco y negro; llega Elvis con sus 19 años (en el Lincoln de su padre) a la casa de Scotty , donde por horas ensayó junto a Bill Black (que tocaba el contrabajo) para preparar las sesiones del día siguiente en SUN Records.

Julio 5, 1954: Alrededor de las 7 de la tarde, dieron comienzo las nuevas sesiones de grabación en SUN Records, dirigidas por el mismo Sam Phillips. En la madrugada del día siguiente y producto del cansancio, Elvis comienza a jugar con un antiguo tema de 1947 que Scotty y Bill también continuaron. Así dió a la luz "That's all Right Mama", que era la música
que amaba Sam Phillips, encontrando al artista que buscaba hace años.

Julio 7, 1954: A solicitud de Sam Phillips, el exitoso D.J. de la radio emisora WHBQ, Dewey Phillips, anuncia en su programa "Red, Hot and Blue" un disco nuevo (que ni siquiera aun era un disco, sólo un demo en acetato) que SUN Records lanzaría la próxima semana.
Entre las 21:30 y las 22:00 horas, "That's all Right Mama" golpeó los oídos de los auditores. Gladys y Vernon lo escucharon en casa junto al resto de los parientes, mientras Elvis estaba escondido (y aterrorizado) en el Cine Suzore Nº2. Gladys y Vernon lo fueron a buscar. Llamados y telegramas seguían llegando a la WHBQ, y ante esto Dewey quiso entrevistar en vivo al joven. Sólo un par de preguntas en una conversación con el micrófono al aire. Elvis sudaba en frío.

Marzo 5, 1955: Elvis hace su debut televisivo en la transmisión local del Lousiana Hayride, transmitido para algunas regiones del Sur por la estación de TV KWKH, que era filial de la cadena nacional CBS.

Noviembre 21, 1955: Elvis firma contrato como artista exclusivo del sello RCA Victor. Al mismo tiempo Sam Phillips entrega todo el material grabado por Elvis en el sello SUN, a cambio de los 35.000 dólares por la venta de su contrato.

Enero 10, 1956: Elvis comienza las sesiones de grabación en su nuevo sello RCA. De estas surge la canción "Heartbreak Hotel", tema que lo consolida como artista a nivel nacional y mundial.

Enero 28, 1956: Elvis hace su debut televisivo a nivel nacional durante la emisión del programa "Dorsey Brothers Stage Show", transmitido en directo desde New York. Elvis volvería a presentarse en este programa los días 4, 11 y 18 de febrero; 14 y 24 de marzo del mismo año.

Abril 3, 1956: Elvis aparece en el programa televisivo The Milton Berle Show, transmitido a nivel nacional desde la cubierta del portaviones USS Hancock en San Diego, California.

Es bastante bueno ese grupo, a mi tambièn me gustò mucho la presentaciòn de ellos en viña, y el vocalista nuevo es realmente sensacional, es como escuchar a Steve Perry en vivo, pero por supuesto no es el.
