Just saying: Unless you read EU, you probably have no idea who any of those guys are besides Mace.

Fisto was voted the 15th most powerful Jedi of all time by fans...so apparently someone knows who he is. Also aren't the movies made for fans really at this point? Why piss off your fans who'll buy the special edition movie and spend more money just to appease someone who doesn't care about star wars at all? Also side note even if you didn't know who they were wouldn't it of been cooler to see them duel for awhile before they died anyways though?
Right. Because a rabid fanbase=400 million dollars in tickets in domestic alone. And no, the films aren't 'for the fans'.
Also side note even if you didn't know who they were wouldn't it of been cooler to see them duel for awhile before they died anyways though?
cooler yes, practical no,
there is no way for Sidious to fight 3 at any one time, especially as the orders best swordsman was around
Sidious lost his saber twice, which proves he isn't really that good with a sword, his power lies with manipulation and strategy
didn't the ROTS novel expand on the fact that Sidious was really really fast.
Other way round, Tiin gets decapitated first then straight after Kolar is stabbed through the head. There is no momentary duel with any of those two
Kiryan: funny that since the duel was actually the slowest in the whole PT
People'd look slow to you too if you were a living imbalance in the Force.
well there is that
Apart from Fisto, it's hard not to forget that cheeky smile from AOTC
Lol yeah, that famous smile is the best. And Fisto was quite well known since he appeared a few times in both AOTC and ROTS.
Sidious did the sith scream which disoriented them and he flips over to them to force them into a corner. He caught them off guard. I'm extremely disappointed with the jedi, but I understand that in chess, it just takes a few wrong moves to lose. In a roll of a dice, if you are fast enough and dark enough and smart enough, you can even kill jedi masters.
The jedi were masters but they were actually inexperience to some extent when it comes down to fighting sith lords. It is like Batman without his experience with fighting Joker and the other super villains. The sith are the super villains and the jedi always thought that the sith were extinct. Yes, the jedi should have been ready for the fight. Yoda should have joined in the fight. Bringing Anakin to help may have helped too. Yea, Sidious could have got Anakin to kill the other jedi in the fight sooner, perhaps, but then maybe not either...
because when Mace Windu told Anakin to stay out of it, that was just one more no to the list of all the times the council have disapproved Anakin Skywalker. It may have been the icing on the cake. Sure, maybe eventually, Anakin would have turned to the dark side into Darth Vader, but that last no from Windu probably Anakin's last straw.
I understand why Windu said no. Anakin was confused. He had the conflict inside of him that is talked about in the Return of the Jedi. So, it would have been dangerous to take Anakin with you to fight Sidious. However, it was actually more dangerous not to include Anakin. You have to play your odds. Life is full of risks and Windu should have taken a risk with Anakin as a way to kill Sidious and as a way to give Anakin some respect or something as a way of trying to win Anakin back over to the light side.... which Luke finally does....... Luke was able to do what Yoda, Kenobi, Windu, and Padme were unable to do.....
I didn't know that the sith scream manipulated the fight, but that does make sense. The jedi were also not expecting him to be that good at fighting. Because they have never seen him fight before. It is like playing basketball against people you have never played before. You don't know their moves and they may have not tried their best when fighting Sidious. These jedi masters probably fought each other in training but they were unfortunately killed by this new guy in town.
Hopefully Luke and the new jedi of future films can learn from these mistakes to never let your guard down because you never know when you will run into a sith lord who is actually more powerful than you.
The other three jedi were killed off very quickly mostly because the film was already two or so hours. And because it is often always better to kill off your opponents as soon as possible and Sidious probably contemplated this fight for decades now. So, Sidious had decades to study their moves and Sidious probably spied on those jedi for decades to watch them fight, which made Sidious completely prepared. Sidious did his homework.
Sidious was doing his homework on these jedi for decades, on how they fight.
But these jedi came in having never studied for the test. They have never seen him fight before.
Maybe Sidious can see the future like Anakin can and could predict their sword swings.
Watching that scene, two things become crystal clear: 1. the Jedi are more inept at policework than the dream team of Roscoe P. Coltrane & Enos, and 2. Palpatine using a lightsaber completely contradicts his character.
....that is because he was moving so fast. they had to slow the fight down.
that is so a trolling statement.
But using a lightsaber didn't contradict the character of Sidious, right?
Wait, why didn't the jedi know Sidious had a lightsaber?
How was Sidious able to hide his lightsaber for so many decades and how Sidious make his lightsaber?
I thought jedi could see through walls and could see through Sidious' clothes to see the lightsaber.
Or can only Superman do that?
Because Anakin was able to read the flash cards in the Phantom Menace.
One thing I liked about the Emperor when I was a kid was that he wasn't a swordsman. One more cool thing the prequels peed on as they stomped along.
how can not being a swordsman be a cool thing? i love fighters
As far as you knew. He wasn't not a swordsman.
He was unique in that regard.
as unique and cool as the wizard behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz?
Not quite that cool. That shuttle was no hot air balloon.
how could a not-swordsman even get a guy like Vader to follow him?
