Sam Jackson in a few interviews stated that in Episode III, he requested that Mace didn't go out like a punk, that he died a rather fitting death

As we all know, Mace was sent flying out the window, like a punk... Junkie's who don't get along with dealers go out windows, Hookers that talk back to their pimps go out windows...

Mace, my purple sabred friend... you went out like a gutter trash punk, your hand lobbed off and your brain fried... a punk personified

Mace and Palpatine cornered, and held his own against him whereas the other Jedi were wiped out in seconds.

Let's get some perspective here. Take a Jedi like Aayla Secura, who got distracted by a bird, then was gunned down without putting up a fight. That's going out like a punk.

Mace got killed by having two of the most powerful beings in the universe attack him.

You decide which is worse.

 

He went down better than Kit Fisto, Saesee Tiin, and Agen Kolar. They were all masters, so I say he did well. Kit fisto is the one who went down like a peasant.
